That's not really an off-base concept at all, and is a pretty old hat retail trick. The X1 is seeing a markup with the 1TB units, but in all actuality, doubling the unit storage doesn't justify a 50 dollar hike. Maybe, I don't know, 20 bucks at the most. Slashing the prices on those shouldn't hurt them too badly. If they bring down the 500GBs to $299, yeah, that's going to set them back, but they probably figure it's better to burn some cash over too much cash.

MS knows that showtime is at the end months of the year, which is why they have called the months before October the "pre-season". They keep all the major releases ready for this period because they want to move a lot of units at once with the holiday crowd. How else to do that but offer the same perception that they did last year. Make it seem as if they're offering temporary price cuts to move an insane amounts of units this holiday since it worked TREMENDOUSLY well last holiday season.

It's very likely it's going to happen. MS has been working overtime to get the X1 try to keep pace with the PS4 in the US by offering a plethora of retail promotions every month. MS will burn cash to keep the Xbox brand alive, but, they're doing in a way that's not going to totally harm them this year.

There is nothing that MS can do to stop the sales that the COD bundle and BF bundle will give the PS4.Nothing legally anyway.

COD LE PS4 console will push an insane amount. Especially if the do a BF deal with it. Holiday is shaping up to be an intriguing battle.

Why is that? So far it has been the same song and dance of sony destroying the competition without any singhs of  possible comeback from MS. The same as last month nd the month before that. Where MS to do something and show up in the hourlys, then it will look like an  intriguing battle. So far, just more sony dominance.

I think they are just clearing some stock to make room for new bundles. Something like that.

Halo Xbox One rising to 38th now. I don't understand how this bundle get release on the 20th and the game on the 27th.

Those who pre-ordered The Halo 5 bundle or the Halo 5 limited collectors edition get early access to the game.

They do that for almost every bundle with a digital copy of the game, wheter you get early access or not.

They do it so you have time to download the game before launch and be 100% ready when it get released.

MS won last holiday, Sony haven't been "dominating" most of the NPD months this year, just winning them. Halo comes out at the end of this month. Tomb Raider is X1 exclusive. I expect the X1 to be sub $300 for BF and MS have FO4 marketing rights. To battle that Sony do not have any big exclusives but have marketing rights and LE consoles for 2 massive games. I also expect Sony to have a price cut and be more aggressive on BF.

I honestly do not know which way it will swing this holiday.

So you say its a battle cuz they "might" do something, meanwhile sony has done something, and its currently dominating, yet again and it looks like it will keep dominating. But your right, "if" MS does something it might be an intriguing battle, untill then, its not.

You missed all the points I made that have/will happen and concentrated on the 1 point that I expect to happen. By pointing out that one point you want to ignore Halo, FO4 marketing and Tomb Raider exclusive. At the same time you do not point out that I also said Sony "might" do something (price cut and be more aggressibe on BF) just because you want to try and destroy my opinion. Not going to happen without an objective debate.

Look if you believe that Sony will win this holiday easily, then that's up to you. If you want me to to listen to why you think so then put across some decent points and a good counter argument instead of skewing what I'm saying.

To put it bluntly, if you're argument is "Sony dominates the NPD results" (which is a lie) then I'm not going to take you serious.

My coiunter arguments have already asnwered the question of why Sony will dominate this month and next month. You keep bringing up last year which has nothing to do with this year and Halo so far is not making a difference acording to Amazon, which is what this thread is about.

really? I dint address any of your other points cuz we are in a thread that specifically destroys them on its own and I have no need to chip it, but here we go.

Halo bundle and game have been available for preorder for months now and has not even cracked the top 50 over thouse months unlike the destiny bundle and starwars bundle and now the black ops bundle, wich since anounced have always been on the top....well most of the time.

FO4 and tomb raider have also been available for preorder and nothing has given even the indication of things going in an upset in MS's favor. Although yea theese bundles have been available for very little time, they at least are very close to release and they are yet to come close to the top 100. In fact, the preorders are so bad that with in a week they had to add NBA2K16 and still nothing.

Yes, MS won last holiday, but the 360 also won last gen in the US and look at MS now. Last year MS had nsane fire sales acroos the country, w their offerings are an embarasment in comparison. While on the other side, the ps4 holiday bundle was very limited and not that big of a deal and now they have many diferent bundles, almost all the third party deals, a pricecut of their own and all the momemtum. So if you are looking to compare things to last year, then sony are doing much better.

Why should I not count on NPD? They are the sole trackers of consoles in the US, they are the most official thing available and if they say sony has dominated then you take it s fact and use it to see how thhings might turn out.

Dont think I need to adress the points in sonys favor that you mentioned.

Again, not saying its all over for MS or that sony has this on the bag, just saying that if all things stay the same sony is bound to dominate by a lot the entire holiday. They might both do some things to sway people, but our assumptions mean nothing, just what we have now matters and it tells us that there is no battle. When MS makes a worthwhile anouncement then we can come back to this issue and say "now things are heating up".
