If what you are implying is correct, then they are not going to announce one next E3. No way they release a Metroid game next to a Zelda one.

Not the Metroid team's fault Zelda was delayed. Suppose they had Zelda planned for 2015 and Metroid for 2016. By how many months would you have them delay Metroid just to put some distance between it and Zelda?

They'll celebrate Metroid by giving sales to the virtual console games. But first they have to get the okay from Adam.

You would push a completed game back by 9 months? This is Nintendo. They released NSMB2 and NSMBU within 3 months of each other. Tropical Freeze and 3D World were planned to release a month apart. Metroid Prime and Wind Waker were only 5 months apart in NA.

What does Zelda have to do with Metroid, or with any other Nintendo game? If Zelda was planned to release this Holiday alongside Star Fox and Xenoblade, why couldn't it release next Holiday alongside Metroid?

Wouldn't mind a collection pack for the 2D Metroid games, perhaps updated with 3D models? I don't know how much work that would be. Anything would be nice really. I sadly don't expect to see another Metroid game in next couple of years (well, apart from Federation Force..).

Okay, that's a nice story and all, but it seems a bit off-topic considering how we got to this point. You completely ignored all of my questions and brought NX into the discussion for no reason.

Let's go back to square one: I conjecture that a 2D Metroid game is currently in development, helmed by Sakamoto. It will be revealed under a year before its release. You have not contested this theory.

I think it is possible this game releases in 2016. You don't seem to share that opinion, but you've been a bit wishy-washy with your reason for coming to that conclusion, so please explain in clear terms why this hypothetical Metroid game cannot or will not be released in 2016.
