I believe Nintendo when they say it's a new concept and they don't want to just make successors to the Wii U and 3DS.

I think it's a portable console, it's what they couldn't do with the Wii U in 2012 because mobile chips at that point hadn't advanced to the point where they are today.

I think it will be a moderate upgrade on the Wii U but will be mobile and will have some other new type of functionality that plays into the mobility of the console to encourage people to come together and play together.

That's just my guess. I don't think Nintendo is interested in competing with Sony head-on. Especially not when they have such a commanding head start. And Sony's not releasing Vita 2, so Nintendo can kind become the premium mobile console provider.

450 GFLOP mobile processor is what I'm thinking. Similar to the Apple A9X but built specifically for gaming applications first and foremost. Maybe there will be other SKUs at differing horsepower, I'm kinda back and forth on that. 

There was a group of people who were genuinely expecting the Wii U to be 2 or 3 times more powerful than the PS360 and that it would be able to push a good number of games at 1080p with decent graphics...

This is in great part why the Wii U failed (despite what the nay sayers are saying, people were really dispointed with the first wave of third party games that ran about the same or worse than on their old consoles... that killed any momentum the machine had at launch — it had quite a lot of momentum).

This. I don't think we will see a conventional console from Nintendo again. I think it will be a app based android type thing, but with conventional anologues and a few face buttons. Other buttons will be touch screen kind. I think it will share a library with playstore but also supported by Nintendo first party. It won't take game discs will be completely  reliant on downloads. It will also stream directly to any smart TV or via a HDMI on older TVS.  Basically a Nintendo I pad.  And I think it will be mega successful,  at least along the lines of kindle fire etc

It wouldn't surprise me if it's just a bit more powerful than the Wii U. Nintendo is being retarded lately.

I think it will be less powerful than PS4.

As far as PC games go I used to really love counter strike, age of empires 2 and tiberian sun... Other than that never played much. But yes I am a Nintendo fan with brand loyalty and love their games. But I just can't help but feel like I keep paying a bunch of money just to get a new controller and I am sick of it. And I am beginning to face the reality that as I age Nintendo stays the same my older brothers got the NES, SNES and N64 and got me into Nintendo I got the Gamecube, Wii and Wii U and I have been angry ever since Wii so I think I am done with them and if I am done with them I guess I am done with gaming. Power is not everything but it is an important evolution to embrace. Makes games more immersive and fun.

The problem with idea of Nintendo making console powerful as, or more powerful than PS4 is that there is good chance that people are going to be just as angry as the result regardless.

If anything, they will ultimately get less hate flames in long run if they released weak console.

Nintendo is still looking for more developers and staffs to fill in their studio ever since Wii U launched, but they aren't really that successful at filling empty void. (There was a rumor that minimum requirement test that need to be done in order to just send a resume has combination of university level math and science.) Since they (Including notable third party like Gamefreaks) don't have enough manpower to juggle every franchise they have right now, we will see even more restrictive franchise choices.

That means more of familiar franchises and less revivals of franchises that doesn't sell, like F-Zero. Or they will spun-off to cheaper name drop, like Metroid Federation Forces. Of course, last report related to this subject is from 2013 Q3, so they might have increased their manpower drastically. If so, this entire prediction is null and void. I kinda hope that is the case.

Why release the Nx console if it is only a little bit more powerful than the wii u?
I don't understand why people say that Nintendo don't need to be powerful. Why not? In that case we would still be playing with the wii. Nintendo needs to push the limit a little further every gen.

That's why I think it will be on par with the ps4 if not a little higher.
And if it's not powerful as the ps4 at least make it very cheap like 220€ and 160€ the handeld.

I want a console somewhat more powerful than the PS4. Just to play games with the same quality of graphics at 1080p/60fps. That would make NX my go-to console and I'd wait to purchase PS4 and Xbone till they drop to $199. Releasing 3 years after PS4 should be long enough to make a slightly better console at a similar price. If it's a yet another handicapped console, I won't buy it till its late and cheap days. I'm not interested in old tech.
