I am very proud of my country and all my countrymen and women ready and willing to help these unfortunate people. Croatia has started accepting them, and they are welcome to either stay or continue their journey.

Milanovic said Croatia cannot accept anymore refugees. They accepted 14k and now they are trying to smuggle them to Hungary.

Croatia said it may have to use the army to stop thousands of migrants criss-crossing the Western Balkans in their quest for sanctuary in the wealthy 28-nation bloc. It shuttled some to reception centers near Zagreb, but many simply slipped the net of overwhelmed authorities and set off for the Slovenian border, just 30 kilometers (19 miles) from the Croatian capital.

We are nit smuggling them, we are helping them go where they want to go. They want to go North, we accept them, give them food, water, clothing, SIM cards, anything else they need, put them on buses or trains and take them to the next border.

It is what they want, anybody that wants to stay in Croatia is welcomed, but they would rather go to more developed countries where they can find employment instead of staying here where there are no jobs for them. There was never a mention of stopping them (accept from.some right wing idiots that mobody takes seriously anyway). Police was there to help them, armed only with fruit and good will.

I think.we can be proud of ourselves, not throwing tear gas or beating the unfortunate people. I doubt any of those 17000 or how many people can have a bad word about Croatia. We are not wealthy, but we are not assholes either.

We had news that Russia helps Asad to organise a camp for refugees in Syria. First camp for 500 people is start working, with tents/hot food/water for people.
Also Russia starts supporting Asads troops, so Syrian army had some succeses against ISIS in Palmira region lately.

now iotsthe time for GB and france to act, they have to nuke riad or there will be never peace in the middle east. russia cant do that because it would cause a escalation to the allready tense relationship between the west and russia-

Croatia will "force" Hungary to accept migrants by continuing to send them to the border, its PM says.

Zoran Milanovic's statement was the latest in an increasingly bad-tempered exchange of views over how to handle the migrant influx.

Hungary has accused Croatia of breaking international law by not registering migrants - one minister reportedly calling Mr Milanovic "pathetic".

Croatia says more than 20,000 migrants have entered since Wednesday.

Some 8,000 passed into Hungary on Friday, the Hungarian authorities said. New busloads began arriving at the Beremend border crossing on Saturday, with the migrants offloaded and transferred to Hungarian buses.

Croatia says some border crossings remain open but that it has been forced to close others because of the sheer volume of migrants.

It says the weight of numbers - particularly since Hungary sealed its border with Serbia - means its only option is to allow the migrants to pass through, and has called for a unified EU response.

"There has not been an agreement with Hungary," Mr Milanovic told reporters.

"We forced them, by sending people up there. And we'll keep doing it," he said in the north-eastern town of Beli Manastir, from where buses and trains packed with migrants were sent north to Hungary on Friday.

Ur contry does not want to help refugees, it wants only to move them away. Legal or illegal - no matter for them. Btw Croatia accused Greece and Turkey for migrant crisis already so STOP ur BS.

Well, it never stopped supporting SAA. But again support is such a loose concept, could mean a lot of things, say, no one knows exactly what the heck is going on there recently in that regard. But the further we go the slippier path might be. Either way, no easy ways exist here and any kind of success might be achievable only with joint effort, you could safely exclude US, Turkey and Saudis from that joint effort, by "exclude" I mean work against it, support ISIS and whoever. Eurowussies most likely will do nothing, will be busy finding jobs for refugees... or tear-gassing them, that depends :D

Believe whatever you will, and whatever makes you feel better. I know that many would just like for these people to disappear, and it is hard to accept that there is one nation that is willing to help them (well two with Germany).

We help refugees by giving them what they need and want. If they wanted to stay they could, but they don't want. Do you think we should force them to stay here? To build a fence around them? It is a free country, and they are free people. If they wish to go to Germany, why should we interfere. We can help them, offer them free stuff to make their life easier.

But I don't really care about your comments, they are to be expected from many people hiding behind their keyboards and trying to villify somebody because they don't fit into their little narrow slice of world. I wish you never have to experience what these people are going through, but if you ever do, I wish you can receive help from kind people. If you come to Croatia you most certainly will.

Well, you kinda deaf too ;) You keep insisting on nuking Riyadh, while, as I've said it previously, that's hardly a solution to everyone's problem, in fact it's counter-productive. Nobody likes Saudis, yes, but that's not an argument.

I heard that these kind of sentiments like "help those poor people" are the main message German (or European) mass media trying to communicate. Well, not that these people aren't worth of any compassion or help, but that's not all story that's worth telling methinks.

Alright, step by step.

...and it is hard to accept that there is one nation that is willing to help them (well two with Germany). "

1. Croatia closed its borders already. Same goes to Germany. Moreover, u are trying to move ppl out.

We help refugees by giving them what they need and want. If they wanted to stay they could, but they don't want.

2.Croatia is a member of European Union. Do u know, that means ur country shall register all the migrants here and do not  let anyone to move any further ?

Council Regulation (EC) No 343/2003 of 18 February 2003 establishing the criteria and mechanisms for determining the Member State responsible for examining an asylum application lodged in one of the Member States by a third-country national.

SUMMARY

This Regulation establishes the principle that only one Member State is responsible for examining an asylum application. The objective is to avoid asylum seekers from being sent from one country to another, and also to prevent abuse of the system by the submission of several applications for asylum by one person.
