And for the logics you have layed out...

You do realize a certain company who had exactly same idea as you did lost millions of dollars in order to even begin competing, yes?

Business isn't that easy, and for person who made above argument - how did Ouya turned out?

You are really comparing Ouya (a small startup with a budget of a few million dollars and no previous fanbase at all) with Apple (perfect at marketing, billions of revenue + profit every quarter, hundreds of millions iOS users, all their products have very high custumer satisfaction ratings)?

Yes. Yes I am. Because unless Apple is intending to invest on game market themselves, software provided won't be different. If anything, Apple shares the same disadvantage Ouya has, but possibly much worse - An unbeatable, fierce competition from their nightmare - iPhone and iPad.

I'm not sure you've even read my comment.

Why does it have to be AAA? That's what I'm saying, there is a large gap between Angry Birds & AAA titles, this type of device could find a nice balance between the two sides of the spectrum.

Problem is Nintendo fans kind of have this Nintendo centric view of the marketplace that only Nintendo can provide "in between" titles. There are plenty of "in between" titles on the PS4/XB1. LEGO games, Disney games, Minecraft, FIFA/Madden/NHL/NBA 2K attract casual players who love sports, indie games, most Japanese games are not huge budget either. There's plenty of content on Sony/Nintendo consoles that you can play even if you're not interested in GTA.

If Nintendo had some special sway over this market, the Wii U would be doing at least half way decent sales, but all the Mario Karts and Splatoons in the world and it still can't make any head way in the market.

What does Nintendo have to do with this? Him and I are talking about Apple. A $150-200 microconsole can potentially find a nice middle ground between mobile & AAA title, yes PS4/XB1 do have those type of games but that's not the main focus and those are $350-400 devices that are primarily driven by $60 blockbusters.

Just a reminder for anybody who is interested, the conference is in about 13 hours.

I'm looking forward to the iPhone 6S, which is probably going to be my next phone and I am interested in seeing the rumored iPad Pro.

For Nintendo's sake I kinda hope the new AppleTV doesn't play games or doesn't have a focus on that anyway. It's really the last thing Nintendo would need right now is more direct competition.

I wanted to get the new Apple TV anyway.

Official member of VGC's Nintendo family, approved by the one and only RolStoppable. I feel honored.

Apple knows better than to get into gaming. Microsoft took Halo from them. They cant outmaneuver Microsoft in dirty tactics so whatever they try should be as casual as hell. Nothing serious.
