I know there are quite a few Trine fans around here, game officially came out of Early Access few days ago (it's around $20 on both Steam and GOG).

While I'm enjoying it so far, lack of any skill upgrades is really strange, given how important that was in previous games - you're pretty much stuck with what you have from the start. Also, I've read several people saying it's quite short.

I don't think I've wasted $20, but I am a bit dissapointed they sorta half-assed it after two brilliant games.

I watched TotalBiscuit's video on it and it really does seem like a casualty of Early Access and a step back from its predecessor. Sad, because the game is still quite gorgeous.

the second trine wasn't brilliant. they nerfed and causulized the franchise in 2 and thus killed all the fun. you saying they got rid of skill upgrades looks to me like they just causulized it even futher. disappointing becuase i like what they were doing with the switching between xy and xz axis 2D platforming. i was really hoping 3 would fix what they broke in 2.

i might buy it but i'll wait for a flash sale when i can get it for just a few bucks.

They underestimated the cost of developing a 3D game. They needed $15 million for what they were aiming for and only had $5.7 million.

I don't know, I quite enjoyed Trine 2, though I played that first. Sure, 1st one is somewhat better, but I wouldn't say sequel was significantly nerfed. Though, tbh, I played both in co-op with my kids, so maybe single player experience would be different.

We played more of 3rd in the meantime, and now I'm somewhat starting to regret I haven't read any of the reviews/comments before purchasing it - thought I didn't have to, tbh, after how much fun I had with first 2.

Not saying it's a bad game, but it's really nowhere near its predecessors.

Can anyone tell me how buggy the game is?
Because I remember Trine 2 being almost unplayably buggy.

Depends if you're playing it alone or co-op. In co-op, if you spead too far apart, there are still some annoying camera desicions that sometimes force you to start over. Other than that, I haven't encountered anything game breaking, but that's my experience with Trine 2 as well.

Still waiting for it to be released on WiiU!!!

I might get it if it comes to Wii U. I was glad to see the transition from 2.5D to 3D, although Totalbiscuits video disheartened me a bit and seems to roughly match up with the change in steam rating drop between Trine 2 and Trine 3.

when does the game launch??
