Forums - Gaming Discussion - X1 gamers: How you enjoying your awesome Nintendo.....errr Rare games?

A huge number of the games are actually not Nintendo but I enjoy them all immensely :).

Around the Network

It's crazy how many NES and N64 games are in this collection. Sux for Nintendo fans that the only way to (legally) enjoy them today is to hunt down original copies. That said I was actually surprised how many non-Nintendo games are in this collection. Roughly half are original Xbox / 360 games or from the arcades and ZX Spectrum.

Also is there a reason why they opted for the N64 version of KI Gold rather than the original KI 1 & 2 arcade games?

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

I think the original KI arcade games were published by Midway so maybe Midway has the rights to these versions.

I'm just curious what the completion rate for Battletoads is / will be. Unless, of course, they put some cheatsy twist on it to make it easier.

Yep. I remember using Game Genie extensively as a sort of level select. Loved the snake riding level.

I used game genie as well lol. Haven't heard that in so long. I thought the genie was for Sega though.

Anyway what I was going to say because everyone says the game is super hard. The games from Nintendo I swear were difficult as hell. I said this a long time ago but I don't think that system was intended for children. I hardly beat any without a cheat code.

Plus they're part of the motivation to buy KI season pass!

I will assume most of the playable games were originally from Nintendo systems.

Well, you assume wrong: only half of the 30 games were originally from Nintendo systems. ;)

  • 7 games were originally from the ZX Spectrum
  • 8 games were originally from the NES (but Battletoads went multi-platform really fast)
  • 1 game is an arcade game: (Super) Battletoads Arcade
  • 1 game was originally an arcade version, but later ported to N64: Killer Instinct Gold)
  • 6 games were originally from the N64 (but the prettier 360-versions of Perfect Dark, Banjo-Kazooie + Banjo-Tooie were included)
  • 1 game was originally from the first Xbox: Grabbed by the Ghoulies
  • 6 games were originally from the Xbox360

I still hope for the "Conker Reloaded"-Xbox-version as DLC... preferably as uncensored version with "Grabbed by the Ghoulies"-treatment (smooth 1080p/60fps).

First I was going to skip the Spectrum- and NES-games, but I'm glad I gave every of these old games a chance... I especially like Atic Atac and Cobra Triangle. The "snapshot"-challenges of these classics are also great fun!

They did

On all the older games in the collection the LT button rewinds the game, so if you die you can just rewind and take a different action so you don't die.

Ugh. Well, I guess gamers these days aren't used to building up points for extra lives.
