Unfortunately some of their fans did like that decision.

I agree with their decision. I don't dispute the value of EA Access in itself, and with DA:I it finally has a game I'd be interested in if I didn't already own it. But I don't like the publisher based subscription model at a conceptual level. The platform based subscription model is better because it gives you access to a much wider and bigger library of games over time. With PSN+ (and GwG I assume) there have been hundreds of games made available and from all (or most) publishers. And with Rocket League as an example we even occasionally get new release games, so no waiting time at all. Only being available for one month isn't a big deal, because one month is plenty of time to decide whether you want the game. From my perspective PSN+ is better value in the long run, and having EA Access on PS platforms is redundant. I don't know if EA spat the dummy and refuses to let Sony put EA games on PSN+, but I can definitely see many of the best EA games coming to PSN+ in the future. Publishers still get a cut of every game downloaded through the PSN+ offers, so it's still a revenue source. I have Bioshock Infinite and Tomb Raider 2013 thanks to PSN+, will they be coming to EA Access any time soon? No, because they aren't EA games.
I think Steam could do a Steam Access thing along the same lines for PC. Though in some respects their unlra-specials amount to almost the same thing, and once you have the game it's yours forever.
I assume it's only the base retail games that are in the vault, the DLC you'll still have to buy.
