Give me the non-matte finish version(which I own thankfully) any day of the week.

I miss the gloss finish from the original PS4.

People really need to have 30 games installed at the same time on their console? who plays so many games over and over?

Space has never been an issue for me, when i finish a game i uninstall it unless i want to replay it.

What's the point of having games like Shadow of Mordor or Evil Within installed if you are never going to play them again?

I don't like that matte faceplate nor the shortened LED stripe. I better get the old one before they become extinct.

The original gloss finish/full LED/capacitive touch button PS4s will probably be sought after much like the backward compatible PS3s are now :P

It'll eventually be cheaper to give a 1TB hd vs a 500gb hd.  It's just that hard drive space increase has slowed down a lot.  That flood in Taiwan a few years ago really slowed things down.  We're a few years behind.

Seems like there's very little price difference between 500GB and 1TB 7200 RPM HDDs now. So I would think there's virtually no cost to SOny in slapping a 1TB HDD in PS4s. Perhaps they still have a few million 500GB HDDs on hand they need to work through the system, but Sony should stop ordering 500GB HDDS immediately.

This was more or less what I was getting at.  It'll get to the point where they'll cost the same, if not be cheaper to put a 1 TB HD in.

Unfortunately I don't think anyone wants to grab a 60gb PS3.  I wouldn't be surprised if the more used ones are on their last legs.  Hell my cousin's 80gb backwards compatible PS3 just recently died.

So no 1TB model yet? That's disappointing. 500GB just isn't enough with having to do full game installs from disc. One day I will need to get a bigger HDD for my PS4. While it's only a minor inconvenience having to remove game install data to shuffle around the disc games I'm currently playing, the rate of PSN+ games I'm getting will soon make just shuffling the off disc installs no longer enough to manage disc space. While there is no way I will buy another PS4, I feel PS4s now should come with 1TB as standard, and even offer a 2TB model for $50 more. If I was in the PS4 market now and know what I know now about the rate of HDD space use I would definitely opt for a 2TB sku if one was available.

It's the effect of being the market leader. Last generation, when the 360 was kicking the PS3's ass, Sony was killing it with updates, free online, free games with plus, no paywall for anything... it was awesome. Fast forward to 2015 and now it's totally reversed.

What reason does Sony have to give us a 1TB console? None. Why? Because people are buying the 500GB model.

Nintendo still make WiiU with only 32GB, so why Sony would not make PS4 500GB?

Making business decisions using the market loser as a model isn't normally a good strategy.

No it's because demand for 2.5 inch HDD's has crashed.  They were becoming very popular in servers a highly profitable area but then SSD's dropped a lot in price and so 2.5" HDD's server market evaporated the same goes with laptops were all the high end models use SSD's while for the lowend even a $1 saving by using a 500GB instead of a 1TB HDD is worth it to the manufacturer.

The only areas left for 2.5" HDD's apart from budget laptops are external HDD's and as part of low cost consumer electronics.

None in UK shops yet, i've asked. Guess they will sell the old models first, i am not going to buy the old model, way too loud for me.
