Forums - Gaming Discussion - Shadow of the Colossus... Not really enjoying it?

I couldn't get into it due to the controls and camera. It was one of my first console games and I was trying to control the camera at all times like PC gamers do with their mouse. After a few tries I gave up and watched a Let's play and realized that I wanted to play it after all. I stopped fighting the camera and accepted the controls and somewhat enjoyed the game. But I still haven't gotten to the Garden cos it takes like 5 or 6 playthroughs on PS3 to build up the stamina cos they removed the resting places in PS3 version.

Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.

I played the game in the time I came out. It was ahead of its time and in terms of scale combat it still is.

Yes, hold a direction for a few seconds, press X, yes, QTE.

My first time playing the game felt awkward. Fiddle around 30 minutes and stopped. Went back to it a couple weeks later. Gave the controls my patients, now I love this game. It makes my top 5 favorites.

The actual fights on the Colossi were pretty much select the sword, and use it, getting up to the weak points were puzzles. I personally found the game boring, bland and very sluggish, but if you like the game and I have tarnished the game in your view, I'm sorry. If I want that style of game, I will play Catherine, as it has IMO a better control scheme, and a much faster pace.

Before you jump on the QTE bandwagon in order to use it in a negative way, at least find out what the damn thing means.

The PS5 Exists.

QTE, stands for quick time event, or press a button within a certain amount of time, for a desired result, usually but not limited to cut-scenes. Allows a more inteactive experience for gameplay not normally experienced in the standard parameters of said game. It was fairly uncommon prior to Shenmue, but really caught on post God of War and Resident Evil 4.

Did I miss something?

You don't know what QTEs are.
