There is no right answer as to what you enjoy, but I am curious about the few of this series given the seventh film is due out this year. Please list the six core films in order you like them and why. Feel free to add ratings if you so choose. Warning: May contain spoilers.
1. The Empire Strikes Back - 10/10 - One of my favorite films of all time and an absolute science fiction classic. Empire took everything that was great about the original and elevated it. The stakes felt real from the start and the battle on Hoth seeing our heroes suffer. Everything is expanded and grown, from Luke's maturity to Han and Leia's romance to the greater conflict between the Empire and Rebellion. Cloud city and Lando's betrayal was the darkest part with Han's bravery as he is tortured, frozen, and taken by Boba Fett. It even end without resolution and Luke soundly defeated by Vader who utters the mind blowing revelation of their relationship. Was a real sense that our heroes faced an enormous task ahead and rooted for them to succeed.
2. A New Hope - 9/10 - Despite its relatively simplistic story A New Hope stands out for drawing you into this world. There is a reason it is such a pop culture hit and its moments are engrained in us. The characters are memorable with great dialogue we've all quoted ad naseum. The story is clear and easy to understand and use of music is among the best in block buster films. Long after the special effects wow wore off, it staands the test of time with its heart as a film.
3. Return of the Jedi - 8/10 - While the weakest of the original three, I still enjoy Jedi. Ignoring the Ewoks we get the best scene for me in the entire series with the Emperor, Vader, and Luke battling on the Death Star. This scene alone is so perfect in how it brings together the diverging philosphies and Vader's ultimate redemption. He never speaks a word and yet feel the conflict as he watches his son in agony dying before sacrificing himself. It also has a great opening with Jaba and the pit and really see Luke as a hero leaving behind the anxious boy as a calm warrior ready to take on his greatest test.
4. Revenge of the Sith - 3/10 - To say there is a big drop off in my enjoyment here is an understatement. By this point I just wanted it to be over and Star Wars buried. What Sith brings into focus is how poorly thought out this all was and how rushed to fit it intot he original mythology. The saddest part is Vader is no longer this grand tragic figure who fell form grace. He was a fool who was tricked because...he had a vision or dream of Padme dying so he slaughters children. It all ends with a boring, over drawn, suspenseless battle and Annakin loses and wanted him to die, but he can't, he has to be Darth Vader and shout "Noooo!" embarassing me and making the audience laugh.
5. The Phantom Menace - 2/10 - Within the first fifteen minutes I knew there was something really wrong here and the rest of the film sadly confirmed all fears. Phantom is a life less, joyless, film with static characters awkwardly delivering bad dialouge in a plot that fails to entertain and raises many questions. Annakin is an annoying kid, we get cringe worthy aliens in Jar Jar and Wado, and Qui-Gon is just so life less. The force is bacteria instead of fantastic essence and the only interesting character in Darth Maul gets two lines and then forgets how to fight and dies in a way that makes Boba Fett in Jedi look respectable. The greatest film disappointment ever endured by me.
6. Attack of the Clones - 1/10 - I struggle to find anything redeeming here. The other prequels are terrible, but this one is somehow worse by being so forgettable. I didn't enjoy a single character, action, place, or piece of dialogue in this film. It all felt like plastic sets and wooden actors, especially in painful "romance" scenes with Annakin and Padme that angered and bored me. It all wraps up with another drab light sabre battle and me left dumb founded on how little of "Star Wars" felt a part of this film.

So, there's my two cents. How about you? Again, no need to attack anyone on different views, but I am geniunely curious how people see the iconic series in 2015.
