Basically, this is intended to expand upon RubangB's thread that lists everyone's Brawl codes.

I noticed a basic problem, which is that not everyone wants to add every single person on their list, a lot of people are getting left out, and some people end up adding people that they just don't like to play against. So I figured, lets go through and work up some personal ads so people can actually know ahead of time if they want to play against you or not.

Along with this, I also felt that a basic set of guidelines should be established to help make the difficulties in communication less difficult.

RULES for POSTING! (Moderator support would be appreciated)

1) Each person is allowed ONE (1) post in this thread. No more than that.

 

2) The purpose of the aforementioned post is ONLY to give your Brawl name, Wii code (optional), Brawl Code, a brief description of how you play and what you are looking for in your matches.

2a) Please list out the full names of character and stages that you prefer to use (Game&Watch = Right, G&W = Wrong, Zero Suit Samus = Right, ZSS = Wrong) It is optional to include color preferences for each character. If you need help remembering stage names, please go here

2b) If you have multiple people that play on your console and therefor under your Brawl name and code, please list out their preferences as well and whether they will only be playing with you, or if either one of you will play alone.

2c) To reiterate, do NOT post about how you battled someone and really had fun, or got stomped, etc. If you think this is a great idea and can't hold back, either include it after the rest of your ad and keep it short, or send me a message directly.

 

3) If you want to change anything, either because you missed something, or you've found your preference for characters or stages has changed or battle style has changed, or someone else has started playing on your console. Do NOT make ANY NEW POST. Go back and edit your original post to include this information. I'll try to keep an eye out and send a message to people that have something confusing or out of place in their information.

3a) If you need to change critical information, such as your wii code or brawl code because they are incorrect, please include a note next to the code of when it was updated to the correct information, so that if anybody already added you, they have a way of knowing that your information has changed since then and they still have the wrong info.

 

4) If you want someone to add you, first add them, and then message them asking them to be added. This should include a direct link to this thread, so that person can view your post to see if they want to add you. I will be editing this first post to include a list of names with direct links to each person's posts for easier navigation.

 

5) Please keep posts fairly efficient and consistent with the format of the other ads. I'll be posting my own ad in a reply to this thread, so if it helps, copy and paste in order to keep the format consistent.

 

6) After some consideration, I figure that there's no harm in putting a post up as a placeholder if you haven't gotten Brawl, but will. However, I will point out that I won't add you to the index until you send me a message that you have gotten it and have already updated your profile with all the necessary information. In the meantime, make sure to include a note at the top of your post that says "I do not own Brawl yet"

6a) Even if you have enough people in your friend's list already, it still might be a good idea to put up your preferences. This isn't just to find new people to play against, but find people that have similar playstyles and compatable interests so everyone can get the most fun out of their online friends. Just make a note at the top "No longer accepting friend requests" I'll put an astrix next to the name of people in the index that aren't accepting friend requests as long as you send me a message to let me know.

Skill - I consider myself to be a highly skilled player, especially with Marth, but I've lost my fair share of battles.

Battle Mode - I prefer Survival Mode of 3 - 5 lives, but I'm also willing to go for Time Mode, with 3 - 5 minutes. 2 minutes is too short.

vs Number - I can handle a 4 way brawl, but I particularly enjoy 1 on 1 matches. If I see that you also have a preference for 1 on 1, I'll ignore requests to join, but otherwise I'll pretty much let anyone join that requests it. 

Characters - Red Marth 95% of the time, I also will occasionally use White Lucario, Gold Ike, Black Zero Suit Samus, NES Toon Link, Gold Pit, Black Shiek and White Kirby if I'm dominating too much with Marth.

Stages - I don't like scrolling stages like Mushroomy Kingdom and Rumble Falls, and I also don't like stages that are TOO large like New Pork City. I like more simple stages like final destination and Skyworld as well as ones where the stage will change throughout battle, like Castle Seige, Delfino Plaza, and Pokemon Stadium

Interests - I play to win. I enjoy a challenge. Don't be afraid to pwn my ass, but if you do, I'm going to want to keep going up against you as long as possible. If I see you dominating matches, I can guarantee you'll be at the forefront of my attention in battle. If you're a noob, don't quit on me just cause I stomped you in two matches, cause I'll usually switch Marth out for a different character by then. If you do beat me with a particular character though, I'd appreciate it if you could keep that character up so I have a chance to get revenge. This isn't out of any grudge, I just want to make sure I can pinpoint why I lost and modify my strategy to address that issue.

Other players - My sister may eventually join me in online matches, but for the moment, it's highly unlikely.

Skill - i think i'm pretty average, not the best player out there but not the worst either.

Battlemode - Survival mode

Vs Number - I prefer 1 v 1 a whole lot more than a 4 way match, i'm terrible at those but, i'll still play them.

Characters - usually a purple Diddy Kong or White Olimar. Sometimes i use a red and white Ike as well

Stages - i enjoy medium to large maps. I play final destination, battlefield and castle siege a lot.

Intrests - I play to have fun, i like going up against someone who is better than me too.

Other players - usually none unless a friend comes over

Intrests - play to have intense fun exciting battles that keep me coming back.....played some 5-6hrs+ sessions with ppl on this site.

Skill - I used to be very very good in Melee, now I'm pretty much average since all of my favorite techniques are gone (L-canceling, Wave dashing, etc.). Where's the veteran prestige in Brawl? =/

Battle Mode - Stock Match Battles of 3 lives mostly. Time is for people that just steal your kills IMO. No Smash Balls, Dragoon and Assist Trophies please.

vs Number - I usually like 3 players (me, my bro and my friend) vs. a Level 5 (for now) CPU. 4-player battles are fun too. 1 on 1 can also be fun... Heck, I don't mind really!

Characters - I used to play with Ganondorf in Melee, so it's no different here. I also like using Pink Captain Falcon. Other than those two, I'm pretty good with all the old characters from Melee and some new ones like Snake, Meta Knight and Pit.

Stages - Small stages like Final Destination, Battlefield, Lylat Cruise, etc. with not a bunch of platforms in them. Big stages are just for "campers" IMO.

Interests - I'm a bit competitive. I like destroying my opponents with A combos (and aerial A combos). I never really liked using Smash attacks that much in Melee but sadly, I'll have to get used to them this time around because the normal A combos are not that good anymore with pretty much any characters. Smashes are mostly the final blow now in Brawl so yeah... The problem is, I hate dying from Smash attacks (yes, I know, the game is fr*ck*ng called Smash Bros. Brawl!)... But whatever, don't be scared to abuse them. I'll just find a way to trick you, easily! ^_~

Other players - Not going to happen for now I guess.

Battle Mode - I like Survival the most with 5 lives at least, 10 is too much and 3 is too small

Characters - Pikachu, Pokemon Trainer, Kirby, and sometimes Yoshi

Stages - I like stages with excitement going on like the warioware stage and SPea pillar, Stages I hate the most is stages that involves too much jumping like Big Blue 

Interests - I enjoy any battle, it doesnt matter if I win or lose, i just like playing, I accept anyone to the Brawl

Skill - I am a jack of all trades. I'm not exceptional with every character but I hold my own with each.

Battle Mode - Survival mode with 5 lives preferably but can battle just about anything.

vs Number - I like one on one because they are more epic and precise, however I have fought a lot of 3 and 4 player matches.

Characters - Sheik/Zelda is my favorite and usually the goth versions. I also like to play with Pitt, Metanight, Pokemon Trainer, Yoshi, Peach, Wolf, Sonic and occasionally Jigglypuff, Falco, Ganondorf, Link, King Dedede, Game&Watch, Ice Climbers.

Stages - My favorite stages are the ones that give room to fight, such as Bridge of Eldin, Battlefield, Pokemon Stadium 1,2, Smashville, Yoshi's Island, Corneria, Temple, etc. I don't like Skyworld, because you cannot jump through the platforms and have to break them, which takes to long. I don't care for Rumble Falls as I hate stages that scroll vertically. I do like epic stages, but New Pork City has too many platforms that get in the way of each other.

Interests - I just play. I never start with my best character.  I don't mind people having a favorite as it can be either challenging or commendable, but I do prefer them to use other characters from time to time because I think it is limiting for someone to have only one. I like to battle under all sorts of conditions and environments to test out skills as well as use different items for varying effects. The more to do the better, though I don't mind going to bare bones fighting either. I play mainly to have fun and for those humorous moments. That's not to say that I am not competitive, as I strive to win and get irritable when I don't. I don't like to end on a lose, which sometimes means me switching to my best character, or best form of my best character as intensity collects or I need to make a comeback. Sometimes I like to "play" with my opponent. Taunt them in ways that don't eve use taunts, test their patience, juggle them, multiple meteor smashes, make a witty and laughable situation with items and terrain, but I am serious about the battle. I do not throw matches or purposefully suicide. I just like to test the waters and play the game for all its values, not just as a brawler, but as an interactive playground, but when I see the need, I definitely step up my game.

Other Players - Roommate, mainly uses Marth or Link. Is a pretty good fighter.

Stages - Any stage is fine for me, except super large ones, like New Pork City

Intrests - I play more for fun than winning. I don't mind losing a 100 times to somebody, and I don't mind beating someone a 100 times. Either I learn something and improve by losing, or someone else learns something and improves........it's a win-win in my mind.

Other players - Shouldn't be anyone else on, unless I have a friend over, and we decide to go online (most likely won't since we'll try and unlock things).

Interests - I play for fun. I consider myself a good sport and don't rub my wins in other peoples' faces unless they brag too much before the game. I like playing strong opponents as I feel I have much to learn.
