Looking back, WiiU numbers are miserable considering all the support Nintendo gave it. It deserved better.

It's not about luck, but about good management.

I'll save that "it's something image"

Question: how may Wii U consoles will be sold by the end of this year? I'm thinking 11.5 million.

Too low imo because Nintendo always sells disproportionally well during the holidays.

With Starfox, Super Mario Maker, Yoshi, Devil's Third, Fatal Frame, SMTxFE, while not being as big as Smash (but that one's impact was already largely diminshed with the 3DS version), are more versatile and numerous then what it had to offer last year at this point (Hyrule Warriors, Bayonetta 2 and Smash) and might keep the sales above last year's baseline.

So my prediction is above 12 Millions, hoping for 13 (13 being not too probable, I know)

Starfox has been delayed and Yoshi, Fatal Frame and Devils Third will do absolutely nothing of note this holiday.

Nintendo typically  have a decent system seller during the holidays, but not this year. Splatoon will likely be the best selling game and outside of Japan that doesn't shift a notable amount of systems. Mario Maker also did very little hardware wise. According VGC WIi U sold 1.7m between November and the first week of Jan Last holiday. I wouldn't expect any more then it selling 1.5m (11.5m) given the state of the Wii U's holiday line up and the price and software competition coming from Sony/MS.

Unless Nintendo pull out a price cut (not worth it for them) then I think 12m is improbable at this point.

It looks like 15M LTD is the best we can expect.

Wii U will be around 15m at end of 2016.

Its down around 300k in its first ten months of the year compared to 2014 (around 1.7 million versus 2 million last year), that's exactly at the 15% I predicted in January and it shows a console already in fairly large decline. It won't sell 3.5-4 million next year.

15 million by the end of 2016 is more or less impossible at this point, regardless of what happens. I fully expect another 15-20% decline next year and the Wii U sold around 3.7 million last year. Set to sell maybe 3.1-3.3 million this year and with further drops, it will likely land comfortably below 3 million for the year, 2.5 million wouldn't shock me either if and when more news and dates on NX appear.

Wii U will be around 12.3m at end of this year, and next year could sell around 2.5, thats around 15m.

That's 13.8 million and as far as year totals go, a full 50% off in sales if we use 2.5 million and 15 million as markers and values. That's not exactly insignificant, unless you like wrestling and like to write the longest posts on vgchartz, in which case the maring extends to around 70%.

I think a $100 price cut this year (won't happen) would be the only thing that might boost those depleted 2015 numbers.

I'm surprised people still care about the Wii U's sales. Nintendo doesn't, so why should we?

Sarcasm aside, at least the Wii U will end up above the Vita lifetime if the Vita is as overtracked as it seems to be, so it's not the biggest bomb of the 8th gen. Both are wonderful little consoles IMO, mind you, but people love to compare the sales of the two, so I figured I'd give other Nintendo fans some consolation.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

Going by Nintendos numbers the Wii U looks over tracked on here. So everyone should adjust their numbers down

What...? The way you say that, makes it to arbitary...

No, it's not, if you have some elementary knowledge...

VG has wii u at 10.53m as of 3rd of October 3rd and it's shipments are at 10.73m as of 30th of September!

Meaning, 200k+ on the shelves... Pretty reasonabe, given its selling rate... Would you expect many wii u on the shelves or stores wanting many wii u units on their shelves? Some stores doesn't  even have it, or stop ordering it and it's not being sold in many rest of world countries...

As of 30th of September, Wii u stock in Japan was at 60k (deduced by comparison of shipments from Nintendo's data and sales from Media create data) with wii u LTD at 2.5m and a 10k+ weekly selling, it had the  same LTD in Europe with same weekly selling, so we can easily assume, that the stock size in Europe is the same with Japan's.

LTD in the NA/USA is at 4m+, consequently the stock must be double of what Japan has... 120k+! VGC puts ROW numbers at 600k ( a number that wii u has reached in one country, FRANCE), I suppose a very low stock 5k-10k! 60k+60k+120k+5k= 245k-260K on the shelveS!

Perhaps wii u is slightly  overtracked (40K-60K)  globally...

Don't worry I've got elementary,  secondary and university knowledge but thanks for the concern.

I believe the Wii U is over tracked and if I'd to give a number I'd say 150k.

I mean sales-wise...

150k? So  350K on the shelves? No way and I explained/rationalized  previously the reason why, very well...

And you keep talking at random... Excuse me, but That's somewhat absurd!
