The Gran Turismo series outsells the Forza series by far. The entire Forza series: Forza 1 through 5 + the Horizen games only equal about 20.50 million sold. The entire Gran Turismo series: including prologues have sold over 70 million!

To put this into more clear perspective, Gran Turismo 1 and 2 alone have almost sold as much as the entire Forza series. Why don't Xbox fans support their top racer better?

Yeah, it's a shame, Forza is such a good racing game, easily on par with Gran Turismo. But I guess people are just used to the name. Gran Turismo is for many people the definition of a racing game as Playstation is the definition for a video game console. They just don't know better.

But we also have to keep in mind that GT5 sold the most in Europe where PS is way stronger than Xbox. I guess racing as a whole is more popular in Europe.

And let's not forget how bad GT6 sold...

racers have decreased significantly in popularity over the years. Forza is hugely successful, as is GT, neither are likely to see the sales heights of years gone by.,

I think a very large part of this is that the overwhelming majority of racing fans live in Europe and Japan, places where the PS brand is much stronger than the Xbox. (Europe being Le Mans/F1/Rally & Japan being GT300/GT500)

Are we comparing sales or quality. The GT series has been out much longer than Forza and it had established itself way before Forza hit the market.

What is the point in threads like this? They don't function in any way other than to boast or gloat, and can only ever lead to friction between forum users. They're not even subtly framed to disguise their intentions. I'm a PS4 guy and always will be a Playstation gamer but sometimes when threads like this appear I put that to one side. Please can we stop this sort of pointless nonsense, there are plenty of legitimate topics that by their very nature creates friction without manufacturing it like this.

Why is it always Sony fans with these comparison threads? Are some of you still so insecure even though the current (console) gen was already "won"? Seems the Wii/DS gen still hurts...
