Redesign on how Miiverse works and looks are on the way for the summer, EDIT: on July 29. We will also have an album to store 100 screenshot privately without the need to post them! And a Play Journal to record gameplay experiences.

I think having their own screenshot album is quite nice, now there is no need to post them or upload to image hosters.
If only you had a button to take screenshots.

Miiverse redesign, Smash online update, Splatoon online update...Everything is summer.

I think the redesign is probably the first step for Nintendo in streamlining it online presence so we may hear more on what them and DeNA are doing with NN account setup etc about that time.

Miiverse NX. They seriously need to fix their messaging though. It's shit. Video calling is wasted too. You should be able to call anyone at anytime without interupting their, or your, game seamlessly.

I never use Miiverse's messaging system, and video call would be a nice feature if I could use while playing my games.

Well seeing this is basically adding some more Facebook and Twitch like functionality to the service. I can see them maybe integrating the video call service, probally would have to rewrite the entire software for that though.

It sure would be nice if Miiverse was more attached to the WiiU's front end. I really don't care that someone just got online (especially since I have to leave my game for a moment to find out who), but it would be nice to get notifications for responses to threads in miiverse. Can't they code that little light to give different kinds of notifications?
