Forums - Gaming Discussion - Is there any rpg that can match the greatness of Final Fantasy X?

FFXI>FFX. Jk haha, actually never played FFX but was addicted to FFXI in eight grade. FFXI never gets mentioned here I noticed.

I consider it one of the worst FF.

The feels that game gave :) best mmo Ive ever played. I dont get all the WoW hype, I could never really fall in love with WoW, but FFXI just hooked me like for 6-7years.

Man that game had so much challenge to it :) and I loved that if you where skilled you could solo bosses that normally took a party of 6 members to be able to deal with.

29 minuet long insanely focused DRG solo's Kirin (this was a old raid boss fight 24 members, back when level limit was 75):

I love that a single insanely skilled and geared drg at new level cap, is able to solo this.

I swear there's a FF cycle just as much as there is a Sonic/Zelda cycle. Literally this game was getting so much love like a few years ago and suddenly I've seen XII get a bunch of love with people trashing X. I'm 100% positive that in five years XIII will be getting a huge amount of praise.

And to answer your question, OP, most of the FF games are more or less equal. They're mostly poorly written during the PS1 era, not as bad as Legend of Dragoon with bad writing, but up they're. They're mostly grindy before X, and the stories are normally trite. But they're mostly on par with one another. Also Xenoblade. Such a delightful game, definitely competes with anything FF has to offer. And no, I don't hate FF, quite the opposite; I just think it's incredibly overrated as a franchise.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

FF7 and FF8 are both even better.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

I didn't like ffx one bit. It was, to me, one of the worst rpg ever, especially for a high profile one such as that. Hated it. Sorry.

Persona 3 and 4 both are better than most of FF game.
Only FF VII and IX are on Persona level.

FF XII for one is a better game, but I would still consider X a classic. It was my most anticipated PS2 game, and I as a European had to wait a long ass time for it to get localized. Localized meaning for the aspect ratio to get stretched and the frame rate to get crapped upon.

FFX is probably one of my least favorite games ever, so yes, plenty of rpgs can exceedingly exceed its greatness. Good battle system, though.

Hi

FF IX and XII were better. Others gave plenty of examples though.
