Forums - Gaming Discussion - Is MS' Heart Just Not Into It This Gen?

2011-2014 MS is buying all kinds of exclusive crap and it sucks. Don't they have anything their own? How dare they buy Tomb Raider!

2014-2015 Sony buys Destiny, COD, etc. etc. Why doesn't MS do something other than show exclusive stuff?

gotta love the internet.

Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?

Every single First Party game besides the ones you need a peripheral for like Kinect games. @2:40

Ok then, i just need to wait and see, because Xbox Original backward compatibility doesn't work that well on Xbox 360 console. So i have to wait before they show us and prove all the games running well on Xbox One with.

( edit ) I think i have the answer it's not  real emulation but it's similar to what PS3 have done before with PS2 and PS1 games on PS Network. Xbox PR just gave some answer that the games not really running form the disk, they recreated the code and wrapped under Xbox One API. is like porting the games to current consoles, but without any improvement.

It is real emulation. I've played some of the 360 games. This is an Xbox 360 running inside an Xbox One. You sign into your Xbox 360 profile, have the guide, use Xbox 360 party chat and play 360 games.
It even starts up like an Xbox 360 does. Its an emulator.

This is not real emulation.

Real emulation does not require the developers permission.

Their new CEO Nadella is all about not throwing money out the window (aka at expensive Xbox endeavors) and wants to invest M$ money into more promising divisions.

I dont see xbox remaining very high up on the totem pole for M$

It never was high up on the pole and never will.

Also stop saying M$. It is MS or Microsoft

Then this is legal emulation

These are ports. This is why when I put the disc in I have to download a different version of the game. This is why it can't just play the disc.

If it was emulation, I could put the disc in and load it without needing to download a different version of the game.

You have to download the disc because you're running a digital Xbox 360. None of this is hardware dependant so they have to be added to your digital collection. If they're just ports why am I able to party chat and play multiplayer with other people on 360?

3rd party deals go to the winner.

If you actually pay attention to what MS is actually doing they have more heart then they ever did last gen.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

All that can be done in a port.

The file sizes are different (something changed). DLC not working.... It's obvious this isn't true emulation.

All true emulators should be able to use the data on the disc to run a game.
