Personally I liked the Bethesda show better, and that just goes to show, as they only had like 4 games to show... sometimes its not quantity but quality (though I admit I am a fallout fanboy and have purchased both doom and dishonoured last gen)

At the moment:

Bethesda : 7.5
MS : 6.8

Solid conference this year. Easily a 7.5 for me with Cuphead being my most anticipated game. Gears leads seemed a bit underwhelming from the preview but I guess I'll have to see more before making a final judgment.

Also Everythign was CGI.


It was 2 new IP's. Recore and Sea of Thieves. Not to mention that they left out other exclusives like Quantum Break and Scalebound in order to show them at Gamescom.

Solid 8/10, B/C, new IP's, free games included with games, Great AAA games, yeah it was great. Granted I felt it was a bit squished in for an Hour and half conference, so I think we'll see much more at Gamescom. Its going to be hard for Sony to top this.

I didn't buy into the hype, infact I hardly had any expectations, so I enjoyed it for what it was, 8/10! Tomb Raider, Gears 4, and even that Minecraft thing a game I don't care about was made interesting with that VR stuff! More actual gameplay coulda been shown, and they probably shoulda chose different segments for some of the gameplay they did have like Gears 4 and Rare's game.

Not counting the Indies, I counted at least two major new pieces of exclusive AAA IP.

I think you were watching a different conference.

Also you should probably check your expectations for Sony. 1-3 significant new IP is standard for both companies' conferences the last few years.

Genuinly asking just tuned in, what were those two?
