It appears to be a prequel made before Earthbound, so Mother 1 in other words. Never before released overseas, coming for the Wii U VC.

HUGE news! I'm so excited!

I knew Earthbound would be at E3 in some form! Good news!

So now we can expect Earthbound 3 :)

Pretty cool I guess.... they should just call it Earthbound Zero like fans have been calling it xD

As a really huge Earthbound fan this almost makes me want to pick up a Wii U.

So it's the first western release of the NES game?
