In all seriousness, I thought Splatoon would be a fun game for a little while., but that I would go back to playing my staple games in a short period of time. I got Splatoon day 1 and I have no clue when I'm gonna stop. This game is so freaking fun I really can't even describe it. The core mechanics just make for such interesting battles and I'm incredibly excited for whatever other modes they are going to add later. If you haven't played this game, try it out. It may not look like much when you're watching gameplay, but playing it is honestly one of the greatest gaming experiences I've ever had.

Nah will wait until fatal frame, devils thirst and xenoblade chronicles are all released in my country before making a decision. Nintendo is making a horrible job at localizing their few AAA like games which are they funded by their own wallet by the way.

This. I didn't really expect that much from the game either, but after I played I was simply stunned. The game has one of the best and refreshing game-feel I have experienced.

It's not easy for a game to achieve that kind of fun by simply controlling it.

Splatoon > Kart 8 > Smash 4 

For me. I've never really been huge on Smash though. 

I agree whole heartedly.  Smash and Kart are my son's games.  He kicks the crap out of me on those. He has an edge on me in Splatoon since he has already completed all the Amiibo chalenges and the single player.  He has better gear in short.  Alas some of us have to work.

It is a fun ass game though and the matches go by so quickly that I don't know how much the lack of voice chat (that I likely wouldn't use anyway) hurts the game. Very rarely do I have a match with more than a couple people with their names written in english anyway.
