So if MS is planning to take the lid off Scarlett "very soon," I suppose that means we have another event to look forward to between now and E3. Presumably within the first 3 months or so of the new year, unless we're really pushing the definition of very soon.

Hopefully they have a Q1 reveal event planned. Rumor is Sony is unveling the PS5 in February, the same month when they unveiled the PS4 back in 2013. Hopefully MS isn't dumb enough to repeat the mistake they made back then, where they didn't reveal XB1 until May, 3 months after PS4, allowing Sony to have 3 months where they were only next-gen system on people's mind. The idea of buying a PS4 had already ingrained itself in many a head during those 3 months. But that was just the first of many mistakes MS made with XB1 and it's reveal.

I'm not sure how much being first to reveal really matters, it's just that the X1 reveal was a complete disaster. If it had been amazing, the fact that it happened 3 months later wouldn't have hurt them at all imo.

That said, I'm all for seeing it asap if it's ready. Show me the goods.

Microsoft could reveal the console at TGA but I'm voting January.

The part about streaming games through xcloud while the game installs sounds great.

Voted March, Sony will likely go 1st.

Looks like MLB is coming to Xbox, weird times, Xbox Twitter and Phil Spencer replied to the announcement.

Also FF7R's timed exclusivity period is revealed.

So Sony's getting Scarlett devkits.

Would not be surprised if MLB demanded it be Multiplatform considering how dumb it is that they kept it exclusive all this time.

I honestly don’t care about the timed exclusivity for FF7:re especially since it’s episodic.

MLB's game RBI didn't sell and no one else was interested in acquiring the MLB license so i doubt MLB was in a position to demand anything.

MLB probably asked nicely if they can put their game on other platforms, maybe offering something in return. And Sony saw an opportunity to make extra money by making multiplatform a game than isn't exactly a console seller and it's practically non existent outside of the US.

Sony will be making extra cash because of this but having one of their 1st party studios now developing for multi platform and losing an exclusive doesn’t seem like a choice that they would have made themselves.

Definitely. That's why i said that it was probably MLB's idea and they must have offered something in return to make Sony even consider this.

It wasn't Sony's idea but i'm sure they weren't forced either.
