New poll is up. ^_^

Now everyone, there's no need to rush all at once to pick Wii Music U Starring Ravi Drums!

And thanks to all those who have replied to the contest. I'll pick a winner tomorrow so keep it up. ^_^

One of my favorite Nintendo moments wasn't actually a Nintendo game (so I don't know if this counts lol). I mean, the game was on the GameCube, but the game itself was NBA Street Vol. 2 from EA. I was playing the game with all my siblings: my older brother, my older sister, and my younger sis. My brother and I played the game way more than my sisters who weren't even that into video games. Truth be told, I forgot why they were playing with us. But at that day all four of us were playing NBA street vol. 2 and in order for four players to works, one team required two or three players. We decided to split it by the battle of the sexes. Again, my sisters weren't the best players, so I don't know what we were thinking!

So how did the matches play out? Well, just like you expect. My brother and I annihilated my sisters. Initially, at least. We would set up pick and rolls, high flying alley oops ,and other crazy tricks that would impress the hardest street players.

But there was this one game where the unthinkable happened. At the middle of the game my youngest sister, who was probably the least skillful of us all, managed to get a Dallas player (I want to say Dirk Nowitzki but this was a looong time ago) to shoot the ball a full court away from their net.

And the ball sunk in.

I didn't believe it at first. My sisters were bad at this game and they frequently took shots like that. But that time, it happened. My brother and sisters went crazy for different reason and I was left asking, "What's going on?" They then convinced me that the full court shot did indeed fall.  Unbelievable, I thought. But that wasn't the only part of the shot that I found unbelievable.

The shot was actually worth way more points for being a full court shot. I didn't notice it at first but my brother who played this game almost as religiously as he watches his Lakers noticed. Shortly after my siblings convinced me that unthinkable shot happened, my brother commented that he couldn't believe a full court shot is worth more than a three pointer.

"What? You're crazy!" was probably my response. But it was true, just like how that full court shot went swish. I sat there thinking how ridiculous the game designers were for rewarding players to make improbable shots. But of course, after that game was over, everyone took their turn to make full court shots. The ball didn't seem to fall down anymore, but we still kept trying. My brother and sisters eventually noticed this and started playing better but I was determined to mimick my sister's glory shot. In the end, I made my brother and our team lose several games afterwards. I was now the worst player in the game.

For that day at least.

Edit: Oh the contest was indeed about Nintendo games. Sorry! I had fun reminiscing this moment and writing it all for you guys, though!

I don't remember who finally won, but it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter as this would prove to be the final time we would ever all play together. When my uncle left my grandmother's apartment that evening with his wife and my cousin, that would be the last time I ever saw them. Relations between our parents deteriorated even further and even my grandmother stopped visiting my lost cousin on his birthday. Later, my aunt would turn ill with the worst possible outcome, after her husband already had.

My family is now even smaller, but luckily, the bond between me and the two cousins I was closest with never vanished. One of them isn't interested in gaming anymore and the other is in a tough spot, but at least, some days, we still game on.

Damn, it sucks that you haven't seen your cousin anymore and I hope the aunt and uncle pulled through. But I'm glad to hear the last time you guys were together, everyone had a great time simply by playing fun video games.

Thanks for sharing such a touching story. And I'm glad your bond with the other relatives are still tight!

Most of my favorite Nintendo moments were always with others as well. It's always great to defeat the last boss or get the last unlockable in a multiplayer game on your own. But to share your happiness with others who are also having fun is undoubtedly better.

I'd go with Punch-Out or New IP. The boxing game is really cool, and I'd like to see what they make with the more powerful Wii + gamepad. New IP... Horror game or 3rd person adventure (like MGS or Tomb Raider).

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Hey dont leave meeee

It's not easy to answer that poll. I'd personally go for a brand new Endless Ocean that makes good use of WiiU's graphics and Gamepad. I'd love that.

But since you're not giving me the option to go for it at the poll (shame on you ), let me see what's the second best option.

We already got a 2D Mario (two if you count Luigi) and, to be honest, that's enough for me. And we got a 3D Mario... but no matter how good it was, it wasn't the game we were expecting. A full scale 3D Mario would be nice.

F-Zero is one of those franchises that are always rumored but never make an appearance... until they do, to the joy of its fans. It could be ok, but it wouldn't be the big game we all want to see at E3.

A new Paper Mario game could be good, but it's a Hit or Miss kind of franchise. I prefer something else.

Pokemon games are kind of handheld only, and the 3DS already got X/Y and Ruby/Sapphire. I don't think a new one will be announced at this E3.

I'm not interested in Animal Crossing or Punch Out and Wii Music is simply a "Oh God, please NO!" game.

That leaves me with Metroid or a new IP. A new Metroid would be the big reveal of Nintendo's E3 (even if it's a 3DS game) and when it comes to new IPs and Nintendo, you can end with something like Pikmin or Splatoon but you can also en with something like the mentioned Wii Music or Giant Robot/Project Guard (yes, I know those were only prototypes, but they still left me cold).

With all what I've said, Metroid sould be my logical answer, but that's not how I apporach E3. I expect E3 to surprise me, to amuse me.

Because of that, I'm going to say a brand new IP ... and developed by Retro!

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

@ t3mporary_126: Thanks. Yeah it's a bit of a sad story, but it is a very memorable one and one that makes Mario Kart 64 extra special. I have happier or funnier stories too though that, yes, are indeed mostly shared experiences, however I'm better at writing the sad ones.

I'm not sure if I'll be on vgchartz while its on. I might have a job then.
