Forums - Gaming Discussion - Favorite Game You're Currently Playing

With a sea of countless threads asking for numbers or making E3 predictions I've made this thread! I don't know why I felt the need to justify this thread's existence... anyway!

Out of all the games (or maybe you only have time to play one right now) you've been playing recently, which is your favorite? The game doesn't need to be new, just a game you're currently playing. You could have just bought the game earlier today or it could be a game you've been replaying for years or whatever.

For me, it's probably Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (I would say Dragon Quest IV but that game is frustrating me e.e). Started and bought the game because my gf wanted me to and at first I felt a bit disinterested, but now that I'm starting to really progress I'm starting to love it The world is a bit empty, but I like how it looks regardless, I like the dungeons, and idk it's just got something about it that really works XD My only real complaint is that the wolf sections feel a bit repetitive (looking at you, Tears of Light missions...) but other than that it's pretty solid thus far.

Oh man, I'm playing a lot of good games right now.

I'll go with Paper Mario.

Yes! The story is a bit lacking, but I really love the environments (except fucking Dry Dry Desert) and the battle system and the partners. It's probably my favorite turn-based RPG that I've played, because the action commands are actually engaging and there's a wide variety of moves that I can perform. Everything is very streamlined and it doesn't try to force tutorials down your throat for hours and hours, or throw everything and the kitchen sink at you in the first hour. The pace is nice.

Overall, it's fantastic.

Skyward Sword.
Playing through it for the second time now, truly a superb game, from its brilliant dungeon designs, to its Disney-esque charm, to its controls that put the master sword right in my hand.

Grrr... I want to get it but I'm not a fan of VC... Oh well, I'll get over it and buy it soon then XD Yeah I'm not sure how Paper Mario actually works since I've only played Super Paper Mario (which is apparently very different from the rest) and have seen a few screen shots of Sticker Star which everyone seems to hate, so I'll avoid that one for now.

That's the next Zelda game I'm starting after beat TP! If there's one thing I really like about SS before really playing it, it's the color in it. It's like a really nice mix of TP and WW in terms of art direction.

Oh yeah, PM and SPM are totally different. I also played SPM first.

SPM is a platformer with RPG elements, while PM is a full-fledged RPG. It has a pretty basic (but fun) turn-based system. The world is open and sort of 3D and you can walk around and talk to NPCs. Very much like SPM in that way, but I like exploring the world of PM more (although the overall story of SPM is better, imo).

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. I'm going for the 200%. Starting World 2 in hard now.
