These threads that blindly deny the mortality of these systems are infinitely worse. The 3DS and Wii U won't make it past Spring 2017 at the absolute latest. Dead or alive. Call it what ever you want.

I don't think anyone is claiming 3DS sales haven't declined or that Wii U doesn't sell poorly, that still doesn't mean they are dead/dying.

Agreed. 'Fails to reliably overlap with the mainstream gaming market' does not mean 'dead'. Nintendo has managed to carve out an audience of there own of considerable size.
I'm just a little worried that once they're gone, Nintendo will realise they haven't been amassing enough of a newer audience to replace them :(
