So I didn't know who this dude was before this thread but a quick google search revealed him as the creator of Psychonauts.
I don't care about the drama. Somewhere in there is the mastermind who made that game. Hope is not yet lost
Tim Schafer has always been very overrated in my opinion.
The only truly good game he made was Psychonauts, not a fan of point and click adventure games and Brutal Legend (aside from the comedy) was a mediocre game.
Things like Broken Age are the reason why I'm so skeptical about Kickstarter and crowd funding in general, that game has been such a huge fiasco from what I've seen.
