This AA method gets a lot of flack. What do game do you think uses it best?

It gets lot of flack cause it's one of the worst AA methods that blurs textures and doesn't solve subpixel crawl.

Here are some good reads with comparisons and performance charts:

As I said in other thread, SMAA 2Tx is much better, with almost the same performance, so not sure why devs are not using it more (though to be fair, it seems there are more of them recently).

You're right , I haven't...to me they all look the same - bad.

SMAA > FXAA

shame it isnt used more.

I´m not an expert, but when I put the FXAA on on some computer game, everything gets blurry, and the aliasing is still there but is less evident. Sometimes I´m not sure if I rather have the game clean and full of jaggies or blurry... It depends on the game.

Well, can anybody tell me what games using FXAA on WiiU for me to know is it good or bad used?
On a PC FXAA looks quite OK on native resolution, clearing the jaggies. If a resolution is lower than native of a monitor - it becomes a mess on an LCD monitors in any case. Picture on TVs (especially plazmas) is very different, so I think FXAA could be better looking there.

On the FXAA vs SMAA, if your system is loaded on 99% then AA method can be very taxing. And FXAA is much faster on slow machines (I think the main reason why consoles mainly use it)

Their both kinda the same, its post proccessed done by GPGPU funktions, instead of how typical AA is done.

They are both about equal demanding. Its just FXAA is something Nividia made and everyone loves them so its out there, and used alot.

FXAA has a bad habit of being really poorly implimented and blurring things way to much.

SMAA normally doesnt do this.

Basically it ends up looking like this most of the time:

Off the top of my head...

- Need for Speed Most Wanted

- Trine 2 Director's Cut

- Splinter Cell Blacklist

- Nano Assault Neo

- Batman Arkham City

- Mass Effect 3

- Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed

- Resident Evil Revelations

Oh, nice, I have or played all of them!
- Need for Speed Most Wanted
Looks nice on a gamepad, much worse on TV, Badly implemented.

- Trine 2 Director's Cut
Looks fantastic.

- Splinter Cell Blacklist
Very good. Maybe the best using on FXAA in a big non eShop game.

- Nano Assault Neo
Very good

- Batman Arkham City
Good

- Mass Effect 3
Better than NFS worse than Batman. I think visual style is important.

- Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed
Badly implemented. The blurriest for me

- Resident Evil Revelations
Good.
