On a PC FXAA looks quite OK on native resolution, clearing the jaggies. If a resolution is lower than native of a monitor - it becomes a mess on an LCD monitors in any case. Picture on TVs (especially plazmas) is very different, so I think FXAA could be better looking there.

On the FXAA vs SMAA, if your system is loaded on 99% then AA method can be very taxing. And FXAA is much faster on slow machines (I think the main reason why consoles mainly use it)


Their both kinda the same, its post proccessed done by GPGPU funktions, instead of how typical AA is done.

They are both about equal demanding. Its just FXAA is something Nividia made and everyone loves them so its out there, and used alot.

 

FXAA has a bad habit of being really poorly implimented and blurring things way to much.

SMAA normally doesnt do this.
