Will the XB1 be down YOY?

Now this is in direct response to this thread: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=201913&page=1

So I've recently went through the vgchartz community, and the vast majority think the XB1 will be down YOY. And I say why? People could say; "well, its 150$ cheaper, and its in more territories." And I couldn't deny that, but people are basing it on current sales, and that's a flawed logic, here's why. Back in early 2014, the XB1 was selling horribly. Microsoft knew it had to do something, but letting go of the kinect wasn't an option (not yet anyway). However, they had titanfall. All that crap "believe the hype" BS got people excited, and the premier version was the XB1 version (even though it was PC lol). So they made a bundle, and I guarentee you it would have sold quite a few consoles. But that wouldn't be enough, right? Well they had another trick up their sleeve.

Now while not official, the XB1 had numerous price cuts in the US and UK, Microsoft's largest markets. This was another big boost, and I think it truely helped the XB1. Anyway so that's why I think its down YOY so far. However I think the XB1 will have 2 tricks up its sleeve in order to help itself late in the year. And those are a 299 pricecut, and a Halo 5 bundle (red and blue colour scheme, its my favorite ) and I think at least one of these will happen. Anyway guys what do you think, do you think the XB1 will be down YOY, or will Halo 5 and a price cut save it?

P.S. Are you generous enough to help an xbox fanboy? Well if you're, please vote for this xbox idea, as well... its pretty epic. Yeah I have nothing to say, its a Halo 5 Red and Blue consoles (seperate) so its pretty cool: https://xbox.uservoice.com/forums/251650-console-accessories/suggestions/7201084-halo-5-xbox-one-bundle-red-and-blue-consoles

If Call of Duty is next gen only, then it will most certainly be up YoY.

Current gaming platforms - Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, New 3DS, PC

It won't be down YOY, especially with the next-gen only COD and Halo 5 coming out this year. Rise of the Tomb Raider might even do something, you never know.

In the case of the U.S. and U.K., I do think that the Halo drop, coupled with a price cut, ALSO coupled with a free game bundle has... a good chance of bringing it up overall? Last holiday wasn't exactly a slump for the Xbox One, it actually sold very well, which will set a respectable bar for them to reach this year. But I suppose Halo could be enough for it to sell super DUPER well, especially if they pursue marketing and bundle variety as aggressively this holiday as they did last. However, if the next handful of months look as bare for the Xbox One as it currently appears- brightest spot on the horizon for a Microsoft-favoring sales boost til the holidays being a Witcher 3 bundle- then the sales slump might build up too much of a deficit for the holidays to completely wipe away. Have to wait and see, though.

A price cut and Halo launch, however, is at best going to have a marginal effect outside of the Xbox strongholds, as consumer interest in the product is just rather low. :/ Xbox 360, for all its advantages, had a lot of trouble cracking that nut, so the Xbox One is unlikely to do any better. While I'm sure Halo is much beloved to the fans that are in that regions, the relative lack of market penetration by Xbox consoles likely means the franchise isn't quite the huge mega-star seller that it is in the U.S, and it won't move consoles as effectively. Early adopters- those who are Xbox fans from the get go- would probably have resulted in front-loaded sales within many of those regions, particularly last holiday when stuff like Titanfall, the MCC and Sunset Overdrive landed. So in all those regions, I'd say that the odds of it being down YoY are pretty likely.

As for overall, suppose it depends on which side outweighs the other. o.o That and, of course, what Microsoft does between now and the end of the year.

Or He Procrascinates, In Which Case Zanten, Doer Of The Things Later

Or It Involves Moving Furniture, in Which Case Zanten, F*** You.

Talk about tricks...one trick they use is they announce that a price cut is only for a limited period. This move results in a huge increase in buyers. Then they get the price back up for a few weeks after the period is over and then make the price cut permanent.

I doubt it will be down YoY... Specially with Halo 5 launching

Like above, with Halo 5, it shouldn't be down
