Forums - Sony Discussion - Konami pulling P.T. from the PSN store next week, Silent Hills cancelled

this doesn't sound good, I think Silent Hills is actually cancelled after the Kojima/Konami fiasco.

Off topic, kinda, but calling it the worlds first interactive trailer instead of just "demo" really rubs me the wrong way

but it is not a demo.  demos are small portions of a retail game to help the consumer understand their purchase.

PT announced a game and as i understand it doesn't even play like the final product which is in 3rd person not 1st person.

P.T is the best thing to come out in the Survival Horror genre in years. Konami will lose an oportunity if they don't make a game of this concept.

Even if P.T was a paid experience, it would still be worth every cent.

Yeah they should at least charge for it if that is required to stay for this demo alive online

It wouldn't absurd if Konami decided to do it.  Depending on the player skills, P.T can last for hours.

: / why...??? That's a real bummer. Anyone that would want to download it in the future will be out of luck. Really lame move for Konami to do that... : /

And I'm not sure if Konami ever refered to PT as a 'demo'.

Interactive trailer sounds catchy for PR, but it doesn't bode well with me either.

.- -... -.-. -..

I'm looking forward to Kojima not having to work through Konami.

The reason behind the name and why they don't refer to it as a demo is because this "playable teaser" is hope the game was announced. Honestly, this was the most surreal game announcement I've ever seen, too. "Let's make them shit their pants to find out what game this is."

Don't know if anybody mentioned this yet, but I didn't see any comments on it in the pages I checked.

Guillermo del Toro allegedly confirmed at a panel yesterday/today that Silent Hills is dead.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

Just a thought, but when they pull P.T. from the PSN Store, it may be removed from servers. In other words, it might be a good idea to install it now while it's still available.

That usually doesn't happen (you can still download many PS3 demos from 2007), but given that it was an interactive teaser for a game cancelled under bad conditions due to the removal of Kojima from Konami, I wouldn't be surprised if it's no longer availble for download after the deadline.

Games have been pulled from the App Store due to loss of licensing (Lucas Arts iOS games were pulled from servers after the Disney acquisition) and this could be a similar situation.

Something to consider for those who want to make sure they have it; they may have to leave it installed on their PS4 if they ever want to play it again.
