I just hope Sakurai can get away from the damn franchises, he wanted out long ago

I don't see why a SSB game would take so long to make, especially considering they don't bother to make a story mode anymore.  They can start at the end of this year (considering thats when the DLC is done) and be done in 2 years imo, launch in 2017.  They re-use a lot from previous entries.

SSB Probably does take 2 years, DLC wont end this year. It'll be way into 2016. It takes a long time to make characters. (ballot ends Oct too).

Who would nintendo trust to be head of SSB if not Sakurai?

Tbh i be happy if they kept the same game and only added on with 20+ newcomers/stages/and added modes (adventure too)

Well I don't keep tabs on who else can do it, but I mean common it doesn't seem like the hardest game to make?  No matter who is the head of the next one they are gonna re-use almost all the characters and probably half the maps and almost all the modes.  They basically just have to come up with a handful of new fighters, make some new maps, make some minigames and up the graphics.  Tbh I'd be surprised if the team couldn't do that without Sakurai by now, I'm sure they learned something from making the previous game.

You be SURPRISED By how much Sakurai alone does for the franchise. Seen a couple interviews with him reguarding works on SSB. SSBM was extremely brutal for him. He is the Oda of Nintendo (One Piece creator)

No wai! The franchise is too big to not have anymore. Even if Sakurai wont be in charge :(

But then games like Street Fighter moved on from their original creators.

Retro studios should make the next one

If Retro is making Metroid/DK games, then why shouldn't they make F-Zero games. If we allow that why don't they make Smash too! While we're at that why shouldn't they make all Nintendo games! Shovel Knight is a great retro-esque game. SK2 should be made by Retro to double the retro. Why shouldn't Retro be the only studio making games in the industry? Why shouldn't every game be retro? Retro games are my favourite, so i would be happy. #Retroshouldmakeallgames #retroisbest #retromasterrace

But SSB 4 games (or 5). Its like Kojima + MGS :p

I think there will, but he wont make 2 different versions of Smash.

Doesn't matter, Miyamoto is hardly involve as much with what he created, Street Fighter moved on from its creator and has gotten better, DMC3 didn't have Kamiya and was far superior and better same with Bayonetta 2, GTA also moved on.

No matter how pivotal someone is if the team is still capable and competent the franchise will be fine.

Oh goodness, I certainly hope not. The current smash still feels plenty fresh, and a new one next gen would feel too soon. I guess it depends when NX launches. Also, I fear for Sakurai's well being... : (
