I should have said average game. For one, I liked SW: BF 1 and 2 a lot. Usually if I really like a game then it is very likely   I willl like a sequal. Plus, I do not think it will suck. This is just typical internet speculation and complaining, sweating the small stuff.

Fair enough.

For the record, I don't think the game will be shit. DICE is very experienced at making shooters, so I'm sure the game will be enjoyable to play. It simply lacks the things I want most from a Battlefront game, so I'm not interested in this.

Is this the honest truth?

Final Fantasy XIII was easily one of my most dissapointing games of last gen for me, however I still enjoyed it more then 70% of the games I played because it had enough of the unique final fantasy qualities that appeal to me. I find it hard to believe that someone could be interested in StarWars battlefront 2 but not in this new game despite what its lacking. Unless you're consciously boycotting?

My only criticism is that it's being developed by DICE and published by EA. Dice has had a pretty bad record lately of glitchy and nearly broken games and that isn't helped by EA pushing earlier release dates when games aren't ready.

I love SW and BF but there is absolutely no way I will be buying this at release. Will have to wait for feedback on it that isn't initial because people tend to look past issues initially.

When given enough time DICE has an excellent track record.  However with BF4 they were clearly rushed by EA to get BF4 out the door in time for the next gen launch and they were spread too thin developing for 5 systems.  As for Hardline - lol nobody should take that game seriously.

By now I think EA has learned their lesson, at least we will find out if they have.

I don't care about excuses, I care about the results. Loads of games are developed for 5 systems and most of them turn out fine.

In what way has EA learned their lesson? By BF 4 selling redonk amounts? There has been next to no backlash for what happened besides a few sites complaning about it, but there wasn't much of a loss in sales.

Of course I'm going to count Hardline, it's a BF game partially developed by DICE.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

Yeah Battlefront 3 isnt really sounding that great in terms of content.
Ill wait until E3.

I didn't care to read your points after the first to be quite blunt.

THEY chose to call their game Battlefront, and therefore THEY are the ones who have to live up to that name and fan expectations of what that means. This is true of all things in business. You can't just use a certain name for your product because it'll get you instantly more attention, and then fail to deliver on what people consider core to said brand/franchise/etc.

so true

Less options is always a bad thing when it comes to gaming. Period.

Not if you care about quality. Otherwise Mario Party is the best game ever made, all those different minigames!!!

Not saying its right to be missing the content it is but that statement is flawed

The better Mario Parties had more options and mini-games though. This is of course assuming general gameplay will remain intact.

Taking away so many features gamers have come to expect from previous iterations, especially if the game is over ten years old is a huge slap in the face even with advanced graphics or new game mechanics.

Prequels had all the badass stuff! so sorry i don't agree it's clearly a missed opportunity not to put all that stuff in a star wars video game no matter if you hate the movies or not! when i played bf 1 and 2 i used to pick clone troopers all the time cause they were clearly the best so you can guess why i'm disappointed.

EA needs to have this out by christmas. That comparison up top is to much for a development cycle.

I'll get the game if there's a cool collectors

Yes it is. I was interested prior to their reveal, but now with everything they've announced I know it isn't the game I wanted to play. Hence I have no interest. Why should I? So it's a Star Wars shooter....so what? If you know something is going to lack the parts that were/are most appealing to you, why would you buy it?

Sure what's there can still be fun, but guess what, I only have so much time and money for gaming every year, and there are other games coming that do have the things I'm most excited about. Those games get priority over something that's functional, but short of it's potential.

If they add the things that are important to me via DLC then I'll buy a complete version in a year or so. If not, maybe the sequel

It's almost like they didn't confirm more than 8 maps or something. Jesus Christ, let's hear what's actually in the game before we all piss and moan about every little choice that EA/DICE made.

OT: I absolutely love how people have suddenly flipped on the prequels. Before they were terrible and never to be acknowledged, but as soon as people have a reason to whine about EA, removing the prequels is a cardinal sin. It's damned if you do/damned if you don't right now. For once I'm glad that the core audience is just a very vocal minority; the masses don't need to hear this crap until we know the game is good or not.

Regardless of people's feelings on the prequel movies themselves, a lot of people really like the prequel era. Many people find the clone wars to be more interesting than the galactic civil war. It doesn't help that the majority of the content in the previous games was clone wars because there was simply more to work from. Also think of it from a gameplay standpoint. Each army was unique in gameplay and now there is half the number. Everyone that blindly hates on the prequels and everything related are the people celebrating the lack of content in this game.
