Even though Airplane! is not the best movie from 1980 (that would be either Raging Bull or The Elephant Man). It's my favorite movie from 1980 and still one of the best spoof movies of all time and still one of the most quotable movies of all time.

That was about it for 1979, as far as I can see for quality movies, haven't watched Kramer vs Kramer and thats the only other one I recognize.

You forgetting about Rocky II. The Black Stallion is supposed to be really good also but I never watched it all the way through only saw parts of it.

Rocky II, was a big miss. Was using Letterbox with movies ranked by user rating, guess they can't appreciate the Italian Stallion.
