Forums - Gaming Discussion - Dragon Age Inquisition sent back to gamefly: BORING

It doesn't get very good until you're 10 hours in. If you dont like this, I dont recommend the Witcher to you, nor Shadow of Mordor. Shadow of Mordor drags on a lot. Dragon Age Inquisition is my GOTY for 2014 though.

Except SoM is brutal, difficult, rewarding, and interesting. Four things that Inquisition falls short on.

You should reconsider. The game really becomes awesome after 20 more hours. Just remember to leave the Hinterland!

I like your handy work OP.

Pretty much this.

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

I couldn't get into the original Dragon Age to be honest. Kind of disappointing since I love dragons!

I have to agree, its pretty underwhelming. I lost interest in continuing midway through it

Different strokes for different folks. A lot of times I compare to the older games in the series as well.

DA:I vs DA= Bout equal

FFXIII vs Any other FF= Hated FFXIII

Skyrim vs Oblivion vs Morrowind= Skyrim was meh, Oblivion was good, Morrowind was awesome.

You can't please everyone. Clearly.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

I wanted to like it. I really did. I actually liked DA2. I know right? Someone hang me, I must be a witch.

About ten minutes after the beginning, though, and I was overwhelmed with so many boring things to do. Which marker do I touch first? The boring one, or the boring one? So many choices...

I seriously don't know how people power through this game. You can throw difficulty curves at me all day, but the moment you how your gameplay behind a bunch of fetch walls I lose interest. That's not gameplay. That's Errand Simulator.

It's a traditional  rpg. You have to grind to build up your stats to push yourself through the storyline and strategize. DA2 was a joke because they watered it down because most couldnt finish the first game. Since op only played six hours I don't think he understands that the real story begins once you get to skyhold. The character relationships don't become meaningful  until you reach that point And beyond. These things should be expected with wrpgs, especially being over 100 hours long. The Witcher will be worse. As for the som being more challenging, those are two different  games from two different  genres  with two different systems. Shadow of mordors gameplay is fun, the story is..so...let's just say that it drags. I don't think I'll be getting the dlc for it because of that.

Go here, do this for that guy, go back to guy. Wash. Rinse. Repeat. Story was mediocre at best; with some interesting dialogue bogged down by a confusing and all over the place main plot line. Filler content EVERYWHERE.

Okay.  Huh.

Regardless, I'm having a very hard time understanding how you can list all those criticisms and yet imply that you liked Skyrim.  That's worth a chuckle all by itself.

Starts out slow I admit, but it is my GoTY 2014. To each his own, but for me the game was great.

Loved it, great game. I agree with some of the criticisms, but they don't diminish the game that much. Best game of 2014 IMO. I will be playing it through at least 3 times.

You do actually start out the game as a murder suspect not the inquisitor. And there is no way you became the inquisitor in just 6 hours. So whatever mundane fetch quests you did were not while you were the almighty inquisitor.

Half the shit that goes on in the game you won't get at all if you haven't played Dragon Age 2.

TBH if you are a TES fan I pretty much don't rate you as being able to critique an RPG with interests that align with mine, because I don't like that franchise at all. So each to their own I guess.
