GBA is the absolute most amazing portable gaming device ever created.
I'm now filled with determination.
A draw between PC Engine GT and Sega Nomad.
Soft spot in my heart for GBA, if not for the simple fact that we got two amazing Metroid games on it. But my real answer is 3ds. No other gaming machine has given me this much fun in all my years of gaming.
Every handheld on the list (with the exception of Game Gear) is amazing, though.
It'll be awhile before I figure out how to do one of these. :P
The vita, Sony did a good job with plus to get me hooked with the games as well as cross buy cross pay of done amazing games and the trophies. I had a 3ds first though only played 3 games on it though it never really felt comfortable and the 3d didn't do it for me judging to keep so still. While that's probably fixed with the new 3ds xl I'm not exactly feeling rushed to play anything on it so those fixes won't really do that much for me. I'm sure there are many games I'd enjoy but my money and time currently go elsewhere.

I think to me it's the original Gameboy but if I had to get one now I would go for an nvidia shield. It's a very good emulation device. Sadly the vita isn't hacked, perhaps otherwise I would give it a try.

Gameboy.
To be playing on the go at that time was just so much more meaningful. Also Tetris AND Pokemon.
The DS is second for everyone I know getting one, regardless of whether or not they were "gamers", and the sheer volume of excellent and unique titles.
