Wii U owners didn't support good 3rd party games like Rayman and Zombi U either though. And really things like Assassin's Creed IV, Call of Duty: BLOPS 2, Batman: Arkham City aren't terrible ports on the Wii U. They're not *perfect* but they're still very playable, solid looking games, of extremely popular IP.

Hell they really don't even support Nintendo's own high quality games that are outside of the mascot/Zelda box. Bayonetta 2? Not great sales. Wonderful 101? Bomba. Even DKC: Tropical Freeze did not sell great.

The fact is it's largely a fanbase made up of people who just want games with Mario and Zelda.

XBox One players get inferior multiplats all the time yet third party still sells like crazy on the XBox.

ZombieU has sold 830k, a majority of which was in the first 4 months of the WiiU's shelf life, even if we consider the userbase to be 5 million at that point (it was much lower) that's still nearly 1 in 5 owners buying it.

For the Xbox One and PS4 right now, 1 in 5 would be 2.32m for xbox one, and 4.04m for PS4.

And for Rayman, 1 in 10 which would be 1.16m for xbox, 2.02m for PS4.

It's all relative to the userbase here, you can point to the sales and say theyre low, but the attachrates versus installbase are actually in line with high selling xbox one and ps4 games.

Also Rayman would have sold better had they not delibrately delayed it to launch at the same time as other platforms.

I don't think Zombi U actually came close to that number. It's overtracked, Ubi Soft says they lost money on the game and it didn't have a big budget to begin with, and just from my experience ... even this day that game is filled in bargain bin in many stores that I go to. Wii U owners won't touch the game even at $15.

Batman, BLOPS2, Need for Speed, and ACIV are perfectly fine on the Wii U too. I have Batman AC, BLOPS2, and Tekken Tag 2 ... unless you are some tech nerd who sits in front of your TV counting pixels every two seconds, those games are all fine and of good quality too.

Certainly a step up from crap like Conduit 2, Red Steel, Soul Calibur Legends, etc. etc. BLOPS2 with a Wiimote is probably the best usage of a Wiimote in a FPS I've played.

The overestimate of the WiiU installbase at the early stage makes up for and accounts for the probability of the VGC number being too high.

Doesn't make that number any more accurate. If Ubi Soft is saying that they lost money on the game, I'm going to assume it probably didn't sell anywhere close to a million copies.

Either Ubi Soft is lying or VGC is overtracked by a lot on this one. I suspect it's the latter.

BLOPS 2 is better than any Wii FPS from a third party, Batman and ACIV are far better than most of the Wii third party garbage.

After Ubisoft basically said they have no faith in Wii U and decide to delay it to make sure they get a profit from their game, knowing the game is finished and ready to release, why the hell should I, as a Wii U owner, buy their game when they say that? The answer is no. That is no way to treat a base. They don`t have faith in it, so why should I? That basically seems like a middle finger to me, as well as the other games they try to pass as `new` and then blame us when they don`t sell, as well as delay a game 6 months after it was released on other consoles, making it a pointless port to release. So no, unless they show proper support, I won`t support that crap.

Tachi is right. I`m a picky person in the Ninten base when it comes to games, but I want better games than what they showed us, and they stop supporting the console when their late ports don`t sell. I`d have a poor view of 3rd parties too, and sorta do now. As a fan, I like Ninten`s IPs, but I want other games too, and not some of the crap 3rd parties have `given` us.

So what's the excuse for 95% of the Wii U userbase ignoring Bayonetta 2?

Rayman is a wonderful game on the Wii U too by the way, if you ignored it because of a six month delay, really it's your loss.

If a fanbase is that freaking finicky and fussy I don't blame third parties for not rolling over themselves to grovel at Nintendo's feet.

Instead of whining constantly about not having a Mario platformer or Mario Kart or Smash Brothers or Zelda to play (the same four franchises) ... go outside of the comfort zone and try perfectly good other titles.

Batman is a good game. So is Assassin's Creed IV actually. Both COD games on the Wii U were good. Rayman was great. Tekken Tag 2 was pretty solid. Bayonetta 2 is phenomenonal. Wonderful 101 is great. Pikmin 3 is beautiful. DKC: Tropical Freeze was criminally looked over by the Wii U fanbase. Captain Toad deserves a better sales fate than what it got. Splatoon will probably be the next one to underperform on this fanbase.

Hate to break this to you but most third party titles released within the first 6 months of a consoles life generally don't turn a profit.

Unless of course they expected over 50% attach rate, which is entirely unrealistic.

If the only thing you really want to play are Mario, Smash Bros., or Zelda games, then there's never going to be enough games to play.

For Wii U fans who are really crying about this Zelda delay ... y'know what take a break from the freaking Zelda for a little while. The last two Zelda console games honestly weren't even *that* great (hand holding, dull overworlds, massive pacing problems ahoy).

Try a Bayonetta, it's not just one, but two freaking kick ass games in one package. Give Splatoon a chance. Go revisit DKC: TF. Rayman and Zombi U are $20 or less brand new at most places, check them out. Pikmin 3 is always waiting on the eShop, etc. etc.

Support some other freaking franchises, there are supposedly 10 million or so Wii U owners yet nothing but a very narrow subset of games sells, even by Nintendo's own standards, they are having trouble getting this base of consumers to play anything other than Mario/Smash/Zelda whatever.

I'm actually kinda glad Zelda was delayed. Maybe, just maybe some of those folkes will actually give something like Star Fox U a chance now as a holiday title so we don't have to wait another 20 years for Nintendo to make one again.

I think it is safe to say that Nintendo will be around for a long time. Third parties simply didn't put enough effort into the Console, which in turn, breeds distrust among the community. UbiSoft highlighted this after claiming they had 'no faith' in the console. If anything, Ubisoft was attempting to say the had no faith in Nintendo, as did others.

Nintendo will bounce back come Gen. 9. Keep in mind that Nintendo did have issues regarding the HD dev. time, along with a lack of support from the anonymity of 3rd parties. They will recity these issues the next time.
