Forums - Gaming Discussion - Who still does local multi-player?

Mostly just Halo these days. Split screen online play.

I played through the Diablo games on 360 with friends. But I mostly play single player games.

I don't as much now due to conflicting schedules as adults, but when I do it's plenty of fun. But man do I miss the N64 days where 4 players party games felt like a 64 player death match.

Local multiplayer is the only way to play sports games, and I much prefer local to online multiplayer for fighting games.

Online multilplayer needs to take a step back a return the throne to the true king; Local.

I'm now filled with determination.

Have a weekly local gaming session. And if theres co-o p ill generally alway do it locally.

Only with the GF, I do not want to play games with my friends that much. I would play locally with my brother given the option but he lives across the country from me so we play online lol. Souls/Bloodborne has no local coop so probably not that much anyway.

Online is vastly superior to local to me lol. I do not mind local but to say "local" is superior is baloney. To YOU is is better but you can do a lot of things in online that is impossible (or a reduced experience) in local MP

Every once in a while me and the GF play local coop in LBP but 95% of the time we play online on our 2 PS3/4s and our 2 tvs in the same room because its better if each has their own screen

Mount Your Friends is good for a laugh.

On a more serious note, when I was in High School and College I loved local multiplayer because my friends were always close by.  But now that I've got a full time job and don't see my friends as much (and when we do its usually at a bar) I'm all about the online MP because there is no down time between wanting to play and getting into a game.

Platinums: Red Dead Redemption, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Terminator Salvation, Uncharted 1, inFamous Second Son, Rocket League

Mario Party and Smash are my four friends and I's go to staple games, which we try to meet up and play around once or a week. We also occasionally fiddle around in Mario Kart, Halo, the co-op Mario platformers, and the most recent Raymans to name a few. We got a capture card, so we'll be recording our multiplayer stuff as well as single players stuff real soon.
