If you relog his badge will be next to the turret. Honestly I was looking to this fight so much since seeing it in the trailer and boom the guy just falls off so fast. I was honestly disappointed.

My first fight with him was I climb up, he shoots me in the face, I fall to my death... that was so BS =P

Mine was when he countered me and 1 hit kill. From then on I just gave up on him. Fuck those guys

I beat the third boss. Yatta!

This game is so much harder than Demon's Souls or Dark Souls. The bosses and the soundtracks are fantastic but a couple of gripes that I have are:

1.The lack of shielding mechanics/items really, really hinders my performance because I was never used to rolling/dodging at the right time in the previous games. Kinda sucks to be honest, but it's still really good.

2. The Blood Vials not replenishing when resurrecting at lamp posts checkpoints. It may not seem like a big deal, but it's actually more of an annoyance because when you die, you lose your souls, and if you have no souls, it is impossible to get Blood Vials other than farming and buying them. And you can die just as easily by farming too.

3. Also, what is up with the amount of hostile hunters in the early stages of the game? What's more annoying is the fact that they are rarely ever alone. I'm talking about the ones near Vicar Amelia.

4.  Fuck Death Dealers

That's about it so far... what weapons/combo are you guys using? I'm using the sword that turns into a greatsword with a standard pistol/torch on the side.

And anyone know if the little girl shows up later in the game? The feels were too strong when I gave her the news.

Agree strongly on number 2. Had to wander around grinding for Vials before attempting to head to the third boss. Definitely prefer the dark souls system for healing. Shielding doesn't bother me as I never really used them in the other games, generally went staff and sword/mace.

EDIT: Keep getting randomly killed by a ghost demon thing when exploring areas after the oredon church. Can anyone shed some light on what it is?

UGH, that hunter drops a badge!?!?!? Damn I knocked him off the ledge...damn and the 2nd hunter dropped nothing. Hopefully it doesn't bite in the end

Also beat "The Blood-Starved Beast" what does the chalice do?

If you reload the area at a lamp and return to the roof where the you fought the hunter you should find the badge by the turret, but if you've died since then it may not be there now.  The badge just opens more inventory at the bath messenger shop, two new trick weapons, but I still prefer the sword-hammer myself.

And the chalice is used to access a chalice dungeon from the hunter's dream.  Use it in front of one of the tombstones that line the way up to the cabin.

I'm at the second boss, very hard att....should I upgrade my weapon to +2 its the saw, I don't want to spend blood shard on a weapon I might only use at the beginning.

A +2 upgrade is nothing in the grand scheme of things...you'll get more shards. Go ahead and upgrade your weapon.

Do you think I should go with the kirkhammer instead and upgrade that one ?

Got past the first boss so far, the second boss I've found isn't too bad at first, but when he goes final form he flips out and tears me apart and the timing for  visceral attacks is ridiculous.  The bosses seem to be more endeavors of attrition, at least at this early juncture, feels like you can take a lot more damage from them than in souls games probably to counteract the lack of shields to balance out survivability.

Yeah, the second boss was cake until he went into final stage. I found the the best answer at that point was just to hit him hard and fast. This game really does encourage offense as defense.

To Soriku: upgrade your weapon. There are tons of shards down in the sewers, and more in the next area. I upgraded twice and lvl'd multiple times before I went at Gascoigne and still had to fight him multiple times. Unless you're a total beast (I'm definitely not), treat this game like an RPG and do a little level grinding.

EDIT: Sorry, that last bit was to Navy Nut!

On another note, there's a badge pretty early on in the game that's a little off the beaten path; in the beginning region of Yharnam, waaay down in the corpse-infested sewers. If you happen to go under the bridge that leads to the second boss, you'll find a corpse in a small room that has a Saw Hunter Badge or some such. Pretty easy to get to; if you get on either end of that long bridge that leads to the crazy graveyard Hunter, you can use a nearby ladder to climb down into the muck below. Once at the bottom, depending on which ladder you used, just head in the direction that will run you underneath the bridge.

...although be warned, that tunnel isn't going to be a super safe place to be. Won't spoil why, of course. ^_^ Just be wary, consider a hand lantern, and prepare to dodge FAST.
