The only problem is that Sega did after the first Sonic games too much wrong.

The only time this argument existed was the 90's. After the Dreamcast, any Sonic game was sickening of subpar

Mario's first game is much older lol... It's also much more classic than Sonic's first game. And sold a lot more.

First I googled sonic rpg, and all that came up was flash based fanmade projects of sonic games..... .  LMAO.

Whoever owns the sonic brand now, should really get all those fan projects taken down, theyre ruining their brand name and makeing their characters look horrible.

My personal preference - Mario. I'm not a fan of Sonic's personality, and Mario is more your everyman. Okay, so he can throw fireballs, grow a tail and ears, be invincible, fly etc... but when he's not powered up, he's just an ordinary guy who likes pasta and fixes pipes.

And he really seems to enjoy life.
