Mmm, Impressive numbers again for PS4 after the disappointing 18'5m number of January (at least for me). PS4 could reach 25 mill by E3 2015....

And if PS4 sold 1'7m in 2015 until March 1, how much have XBO sold???, 0'5m-0'6m???, so around a 3:1 ratio against its main rival during 2015....very impresive indeed.

Xb one Jan NPD 152K. Feb I'm guessing ~200K = 352K USA to 1 March. USA ~ 60% of Xb one market --> ~600K globally for Jan+Feb = 11.6 LTD more or less.

March Quarter shipments for Xb one will be very interesting. Though MS will not state that number as a stand alone figure, I would guess that at least 90% of Xbox shipments for the March quarter will be Xb one. That will give us a very good indication of VGC Xb one tracking.

why is the XB1 going from doing 150k+ in January to doing 200k+ in February? Does it have anything to do with the amazon only value deal for the XB1? Or are you suggesting an evolve boost due to XB1 exclusive marketing?

Congrats, PS4! Considering it's doing really well even though it hasn't received an official price cut yet, I think Sony might hold off until this fall to drop the price.

Why doesn't Sony ever report how much PS3 has sold these days? We haven't had an official follow up since Nov 2013

It's not worth it until it hits 90 million

So maybe 400k undertracked? But why did they announce 20.2mn? That's an odd number :).

It's for March 1st and they passed 20 million?

Yeah the big news is selling over 20 million at launch price. I wonder if their share price will continue to go up because there's gonna be a lot more ps plus subscribers on the way. Anyway with the best line up compared to its rivals until at least September I can see them holding out and dropping the price in October by 50$ and then another $50 come black Friday.

As expected, undertracked on vgcharz again.

What Sony would prefer, theorically??

a) Sell 16 mill PS4's at 400$ all year

or

b) Sell 7 mill at 400$ until end August (PS4 sold around 6 mill from  Jan 1 '14-end Aug '14) +  12 mill more at 300$ during Sept-end 2015 (PS4 sold around 8 mill during Sept '14-end '14)

Both sum the same income without counting costs, but with option b) you have 3 mill more consoles sold, so more software sales...

That's why Sony will probably do that price cut in the fall like you said.

Still no word from MS on XBone sales. I'm beginning to question if they've even sold through that 10 million shipped yet. They shouldn't be being so hush hush.

OT: PS4 broke the 20 million mark! Woooo!

They've definitely sold through that 10 million shipment. The alternative is that the X360 is a complete beast in its 9(?)th year and that is unlikely.

Or they overshipped the One greatly, which we have had reports of.  Of course, I highly doubt that they haven't sold through the 10M as of March.

We might not actually see a price cut.

we'll see a price cut this year but probably not until the june-sept time frame.

And given the current sales, I'm definitely thinking they'll just drop it by $50.  It's all they'll need to do.

Wow a sales juggernaut.

Such numbers with no big software or price cut, just might surpass the King.

Leave Wayne Gretzky out of this!

Gretzky was "The Great One". The "King" is King Ringless, aka Henrik Lundqvist, aka The King without a Crown.
