I hate to be a downer, but I'm expecting this to be something really meh, like that Ubisoft "Friends" game.

Yeah, I really don't understand the excitement over this whole thing. "Tanta-something porting big 3rd party AAA title to Wii U" should set off all kinds of alarm bells, but instead we get people hoping for Kingdom Hearts III.

No wonder games on Wii U do so badly when fans prefer hyping unknown games that very likely will suck instead of supporting good stuff like Wonderful 101 and Tropical Freeze.

Yeah, I think all this excitement is just setting up for a massive disappointment when it turns out to be something lame.

Again, I take no joy in being a pessimist, I just want to soften the blow, cos I honestly don't see this ending well.

Around the Network

Dark Souls 2 or Tekken 7

Another call of duty

I'd actually buy that if it had Wiimote + Nunchuk support.

I'm starting to get a nasty feeling it could be Minecraft; it's not M rated/"hardcore", and "biggest thing we've worked on" could refer to brand popularity.

Hope I'm wrong though, I'd rather use my testicles as piranha bait that play Minecrapft.

Minecraft.

Except people this time should be (moderatly) excited. I don't support internet excitment most times becuase, well, it's usually unreasonably high. But this time around, with the information we've been given, we have 2 options:

a) AAA title, not M rated, bigger than Deus EX and ME3, which is actually reason to be excited. It could be something that doesn't interest you particularly. I, for instance, wouldn't be too happy with Minecraft or KH remixes or Final Fantasy XIII trilogy, but nonetheless I realize those would be nice additions to the game library and I might even give one of those a go sometime. Now if it would be one of those I hope it is, then that would be great.

b) Or Tantalus are big fat liars.

Since I don't believe they're big fat liars, I believe that, worst case scenario will get a nice game I'm not that interested in, best case scenario we'll be getting a nice game I'll probably buy day one.

AA title, not m rated, bigger than Deus EX and ME3, benn porting it for what? More than 1,5 years? 2 years? I think it's bound to be something good, maybe something I might not be into it, but something good nonetheless.

Yeah, people, this time around, should be excited (moderatly of course!).

New Kingdom Hearts series exclusive for Nintendo consoles. (First series is over with the 3rd if I'm not mistaken.) /s

True, but we can still blame Tantalus for saying "it's the biggest project we've worked on to date" and they've ported Mass Effect and Deus Ex if I'm not mistaken. It'd have to be pretty big.

They should just unveil it already; they are only hurting themselves by keeping it under wraps, as the more they let excitment build, the bigger the backlash will be if it turns out they are overhyping. If they've truly got the goods, they have nothing to lose by letting the cat out of the bag, and in fact they would benefit from not letting anticipation raise expectations too high.
