Forums - Sales Discussion - The PS4 will easily win the United States

I hear Uncharted this and Uncharted that, but the simple fact is that Halo is simply in a different league when we're discussing sales in the US market. It's not even close... Really, it's just not. In addition you have Call of Duty, which is also bigger in the US on Xbox than it is on PS4. Those 2 games alone will keep Xbox competitive short term in the US.

In the short term, Xbox One will keep the gap small and possibly even take a lead. Long term? Who knows. The generation is too young.

i'm not willing to bet that PS4 won't win, but i know it won't be easy. Exclusives are a thing of the past, so XB1 winning in US and losing in Europe and Japan is totally possible.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

XB1 seems to have no compelling exclusives until Q4, while PS4 has them more spread out and more 3rd party exclusives keep popping up as well. Right now I don't think XB1 is going to win any month until Q4.

My 8th gen collection

LMAo two games that dont come out for about 8 to ten months will keep xbox competative short term in teh US ? lol wtf are you talking about.

PS4 still beat X1 and is beating it now, Halo5 wont change that neither will the next cod as this one didnt help this much.

Short term the gap is growin, and will grow till the next fire sale.  Long term the one that sales with the least market gimmicks will out sale the other its just basic logic.   A gen is won and lost in the first year, as MS says them selves first to 10m wins.  Even by their own standarts xbox has already lost this gen.

Halo isn't what it once was, both brands(halo and xbox) have been damaged.

XBOX fans only logical counter to this is "we have Halo". Halo can't carry a whole brand 12 months out of the year sorry. If XBOX doesn't bring anything else new to the table that people care about they will lose in the US long term as well.

and when someones console of choice wins america... you get, absolutely nothing :O

hurray! lol

So true, although I guess the satisfaction of being right to strangers on a niche video games' website is important to some --shrugs--

OT: I'll say they'll win it it, but not "easily".

What's not logical about it? Every main Halo title with exception to the first has sold well over 6m+ in North America alone. That's quite significant actually. I can't predict the long term though... Because we don't know what the long term is yet. I will say that it certainly favors the PS4, but you never know.

Can you elaborate on that?
Other than having MMC being bugged (but selling very well for an HD remake), I do not see what can make you affirm that?
If you look at the last full game, Halo 4, and same timeframe sales, maybe Halo 4 is not the beast that Halo 3 was but it is certainly NOT a decline compared to other versions, so other than you personnal fillings, I'm curious to see how you came to this conclusion...

Same goes for the Xbox brand by the way, as the Xbox One is doing very well compared to then Xbox 360 for instance.

Edit: Oh you are another of this alts, so I guess this post was not serious. My bad.

Agree I think it will win, disagree it will be easy
