Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Xbox One lost another exclusive

Guess it's trying to increase sales of it's software by opening some of it's games to another market while maintaining it's exclusivity from the other consoles. Probably a smart move.

I don't mind at all, as long as it stays console exclusive, that's good enough for me.

In terms of this game specifically, it matters not a bit. The game is not a system seller so it's better to make money from selling to as many people as possible without putting it on an actual competitor's platform.

What if they start bringing Forza, Halo and Quantum Break to PC?

Forza isn't a major system seller, but it is a strategically important game for Xbox as it's an exclusive racing sim. Forza Horizon OTOH I see as not at all strategically important and it could well go onto PC without any real impact on Xbox. Halo, no that should stay exclusive to Xbox. Though the legacy games should probably make their way to PC at some point. There's no hardware sales advantage to keeping last gen games exclusive. If people know that Halo 5, for instance will only come to PC once the Xbox one 2 is launched that will not diminish Xb one sales. Only people who are somewhat interested in Halo will wait that long to play Halo 5, and those people are not going to fork out to buy an Xb oneto get Halo 5 earlier. In particular PC gamers who have plenty to game with, and free online, are not going to buy an Xbox to play a Halo game on console for the first time ever with Halo 5.

Quantum Break will go to PC if it doesn't really do as well as hoped on Xb one.

its a weird situation.

When Microsoft wasnt supporting Windows games for PC properly then fans cried out at Microsoft for it and said its a bad move and bashed them

Now Microsoft starts adding games to PC and its still perceived as bad to people

I view Microsoft in the same light I do Nintendo sometimes. They're in a no win situation no matter what they do

You misunderstand. MS shouldn't have gone console in the first place.

smart move. lets be honest, this game isnt gonna push many XB1's or any at all. so they should put it on PC and make more money off of software.

I didn't really think of that, very true!

There's only 2 races: White and 'Political Agenda'
2 Genders: Male and 'Political Agenda'
2 Hairstyles for female characters: Long and 'Political Agenda'
2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'

So in the long run if I have a PC and a Ps4 I will have access to the PC + Ps4 + XO library. I like that :) .

No, just wishful thinking on your end. A few games here and there but that's about it.

As a big Fable fan, this is great news. Looking forward to playing it. Believe it or not, Fable 2 and 3 were almost the only reason I ever considered buying an xb360 (well, that and Kinect). Same with xbone if the new Fable would turn out to be good, Don't wanna buy too many consoles, so this is excellent news for me.

Not exactly. They could have developed exclusive games for PC and exclusive games for xbone. What they're doing is really hurting xbone no matter how people have been trying to spin it. It gives the impression to potential buyers that there's not much reason to own an xbone, as pretty much everything will eventually come to pc. Even if you have no interest in Dead Rising or Fable, it still affects the consumer's perception of the console.
