Forums - Gaming Discussion - About Windows 10 if its subscription based and clarifying the free upgrade.

Its not subscription based, Satya Nadella said it himself. He also said that if you download it in that year, you'll be able to keep forever! So heck yeah I'm going to download it! Good decision from Microsoft, though I don't think the investors like it, as Microsoft is down over 1%. Anyway if you want to read the article where I got this from (it relieved me to) you can see it here: http://www.polygon.com/2015/1/21/7866935/windows-10-upgrade-free-7-8-1-phone-one-year

Please read through the update, as if you miss something you may get the wrong feeling. Anyway having a good feeling about Windows 10, are you?

Why would anyone thing it was subscription based? If it was then Windows 10 would be literally the biggest flop ever...

Most likely the people that want it to be the biggest flop ever. I'll be downloading it onto all my Win8 devices. Not sure if I'm going to to that on my main PC yet. I usually prefer a fresh install.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

MSFT stock was down over 1% before the Win10 event...

Nice gesture, Microsoft, so kudos to you. I'll probably download the OS to my PC after it's been out 9-10 months. I've learned to give MS room to work things out right after launch.

Will definitely be downloading it. Good thing they made the update available for Windows 7 users. My only worry now is that Window 7: Home premium users may.not be given the update since it is the lowest wwindows 7 version.
