Forums - Gaming Discussion - The Wii U is the only console to ever baffle me

Enough with the Wii U won't sell 20 million, talk. It's selling at about half the speed of the Xbox one, worst case scenario. So unless the xb1 will only sell under 40 million, I'm not sure where these ridiculous stats are coming from. It just had its best month EVER. If it sells the same for another 3 years then it will have 20 million. With the upward momentum it now has, I expect this year and next year will sell at least more than 2014. So by 2016 end that's at least 17 million. I doubt it will fail to sell another 3 million in 2017 and 2018 combined, at which point a new console may have been introduced and the wii U will be very cheap.

Oh I see, you are the kind of guy that hates a Zelda game and judges it's qualilty based of off it's artstyle
Christ, it is like 2003 all over again

Not entirely true WInd Waker is my second favorite Zelda game behind Ocarina of Time. I'm actually more against the Skyward Sword art style than cel shaded. It just looks so cartoony and bad, but not cool like Wind Waker.

You are still judging the game's qualilty based off of it's artstyle, wait until it actually comes out and then state your opinions on it

Sony was arrogant, ultimately their arrogance led them to make an over engineered console. They at least had the sense to rebrand the platform, strip out the excess and do what they should have done from the start.

Nintendo, well they are just stubborn. As they say, Nintendo is always gonna Nintendo. Their stubbornness has led them to make the kinda console they have now, and it is why they will not do anything to turn it around.

You tend to speak in the name of everyone while most people would disagree

I think most people are agreeing cause I see on forums everywhere people are angry at Nintendo. When I saw 3D World I did a huge face palm. Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 were some of the most gorgeous games EVER (despite not being HD) and Nintendo finally gets an HD console and all they give us is a sequel to a 3DS game? Unreal. Not to mention Zelda. They showed us this awesome demo at E3 2012 and what they gave us is a Skyward Sword sequel.

Twilight Princess and Ocarina of Time are the 2 most popular Zeldas, with TP getting so much hype it was ridiculous.

And on forums everywhere people are defending Nintendo... You can't argue like that. A lot of people also like the Wii U and Super Mario 3D World. A huge amount of people are very exited for the new Zelda.

Nintendo isn't arrogant! It's just plain stupid.

A lot of the quality Zelda has is due to its graphics. Even Nintendo said Zelda should be realistic: http://imgur.com/AvVw46v

Link and Zelda were 2 of the "realistic stars" you had to face.

In terms of reception. It's got GREAT reviews (93 on Metacritic, 93% on GameRankings, 5 stars on Amazon), yet it's barely talked about and didn't even get close to selling the Wii U. Why? Because it's not what fans wanted. They wanted a sequel to Super Mario 64 in HD, not a sequel to 3D Land in HD.

I have played every main console Mario ever. In fact I played Galaxy 2 again as recently as last year. Yet I have no interest in 3D World. I am not even close to being alone either.

The thing that bugs me the most with the WiiU is the 1gb of ram in 2012. How much money were they actually saving by not using 2 or 4 GB of ram. This is really hurting the system in terms of load time and restricting developers. Clearly explain why all 3rd parties aren't interested in developing for such archaic system.

As an early adopter the load time used to be horrendous compare to bad now.

Thanks for the explanation.
