Forums - Gaming Discussion - Driveclub sold only 84k in the US.

Forza sells more in america than europe.  Same goes to gran turismo.

No, NPD doesnt track europe.  Driveclub was exclusively bundled in europe, not america.  The american bundles were littlebigplanet and gran theft auto.

bolded: Wait what?

And it shouldn't really come as a surprise when an Xbox game sells more in the US than in Europe.

They don't do nearly as well as they do in Europe. Also I know, which is why it was apart of my explanation of why it did 84k. DC was heavily bundled and boosted sales WW, and NPD don't track bundled sales.

Gran Turismo 5 and 6 say hello. (please fact check)

Forza sells more in US because it's Xbox Exclusive and Xbox’s most dominant territory by far is the US..

We all know NPD doesn’t track Europe. Ah you’re right there wasn’t a Driveclub bundle in the US, regardless Driveclub was a digital-centric launch.(time leading up to it, especially with the PS+ edition that still hasn’t come out)

My point still stands, lower preference for Racing games than other regions, high % of digital sales and lack of bundles (which worked as Driveclub was the best-selling exclusive in the UK)

There's only 2 races: White and 'Political Agenda'
2 Genders: Male and 'Political Agenda'
2 Hairstyles for female characters: Long and 'Political Agenda'
2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'

I really wouldn't use the whole "high percentage of digital sales" thing as we don't really have proof for it and since the only real indicator for digital sales we have actually says something else.

This could have been a MAJOR flop thread. Really a missed opportunity.

Oh well, The Order 1886 is coming up; and beyond that, Sony will definitely release more PS4 games.

GOTG Bloodborne coming in just two months!

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Hmm I agree, I do think it is very likely as it was branded and marketed in a digital-centric manner, before it failed it's launch and they (successfully) bundled the crap out of it.

GT1-4 sold more in america.  But yes GT5 and 6 sold more in europe.  My point is that racing is very relevant in America so lets not act like it isnt

I highly doubt that the digital is that high on Driveclub.  The main reason Driveclub has sold well in general was because it was massively bundled during the holidays in Europe.  If it wasnt for bundling i doubt Driveclub would have done well at all.  It was not recieved well critically, it was majorly broken, and Sony lied about PS+.

4-6 mainline GT games sold more in america.

Need For Speed sells more in america

Forza Sell more in america

Dirt Sells more in Europe

Mari Kart Sells more in America

Burnout sells more in america

Motorstorm sells more in europe

PGR sells more in america

The list goes on but racing is popular in both america and europe.  It isnt exclusive to Europe.

It's low in the US, but digital sales in Europe are not low (using the only indicator we have: PS store ratings), it has 14k rating on the European PS store, that's more than TLOU:R has, compared to that Driveclub only has about 4k ratings in the US store (vs. 56k ratings for TLOU:R!!)

It's also doing very good in UK where it's 10 pounds cheaper than usual games, at around 25 pounds.

Thats not really much of an indicator of anything.  the best you could do with that is look for attatch rates on digital which as far as i know is very low in comparison of retail.  Not sure where you would even find that information

Adding to that, isnt DC Europe Bundles Digital codes?
