With PS4 (5.65), PS3 (4.21) and PSV (0.32) combined this version has surpassed FIFA 14 combined sales by 150k in total. The significant thing about this is that the achievement of 10.18m sales on PS platforms alone has been reached within less than 4 months. With still 8 months to go before the FIFA 16 will be released it seems possible, in my opinion, for the PS4 version to reach 10m making it the best selling FIFA on a single platform. (currently FIFA 13 with 8m). Heck. The Playstation versions alone can surpass the total amount of 16.51m units that all the versions of FIFA 14 have combined. 

What is also interesting that it is just a matter of weeks before FIFA 15 becomes the best selling FIFA yet, a series that is on the rise since the first installment in the previous generation. FIFA 15 has sold more than 15m copies so it will definitely reach 20m or even higher numbers. 

I guess EA is happy :p and I'm curious to see how much the franchise can grow further.

I very much doubt it will get to 10m on PS4 though. It's only just half way there (probably overtracked as well) and in about 8 months time the sales will fall off a cliff.


Don't think the sales will fall since somewhere down the line it will become available at a much lower pricepoint

Coincidentally, FIFA 15 is the one I played the least of all years, and will be my final FIFA game for a long time. Doubt I'll buy another one this generation.

They will fall. Once FIFA 16 hits most people will buy that instead. Used copies prices will also drasticly decling meaning there will be a greater proportion of used sales as well. Then the game will almost certainly be on EA Access at some point too. Even if EA Access hasn't come to PS by then it will still affect the sales.

I mean it will still sell well. FIFA 13 (PS3) and FIFA 15 (PS4) are tracking similar so still selling 3 million units in the upcoming 8 months is considered good. And I think legs will improve a bit from previous years and therefore I see 10m possible. I just base my prediction on the previous games and the yearly increase in sales.

I think they need to focus on the quality of gameplay more if they want to keep this upward trend going

FIFA 15 hasn't impressed me a huge amount over 14

fifa 15 is heavily overtracked on ps4

overall ps4 software as of 3rd janary is 81.8m including digital (20 bucks arcarde games, aswell)
ps4 software according to vgc 85.4m

15m overtracked ps4 software overall
500k or more fifa 15 only

Among people under 30 it is among the top 3 sports. That demographic is more likely to play video games as well. FIFA is also fairly popular outside of sport fans as the sport is easy to get into and play in regards to controls and rules unlike say a NFL Madden would be.
