Why should they? One is ultra cheap and portable... selling to mostly children. The other is upwards of $400.00, sits in the living room and is played mostly by adults. The two couldn't be anymore different. 

It's like comparing motorcycles to cars. 

If I had any gifs I'd use one of those were a guy is laughing his ass off, cuz this is so wrong. When do people face the fact that gaming is not for adults. Not the Sony demographic is adult. I believe they even loose to Nintendo on that matter.

By the way, motorcycles and cars, although providing different solutions to achieve it, they both have the same core funcitonality, just like the handheld vs console debate, therefore they are very comparable.

yes and that's what my thread is all about. I think Sony will win over all but it won't be a cake walk.

It's not that we forget, it's that we really couldn't care less. The majority of people on this forum as well as any other gaming forum are not shareholders so profit means absolutely nothing to them.

That works both ways. Why should units sold mean anything to non shareholders? The thing is, you can't really separate profitablility from units sold, they're very very related with each other.

But Yeah, I get what you're saying and agree that making the units sold comaprison on its own has its usefuness. It's just I also don't think disregarding completly the financial aspect of the discussion all the time is right. Specifically for the matter the OP brought up.

You use a link about a study which in the link says adult women is the largest demographic in gaming? Really?

I haven't read that but I bet it is talking about mobile/casual games...

Yeaaaah, those aren't exactly the same demographic as the ones who buys consoles...

Btw there are many adult gamers nowadays, but even those started of as  gamers when they were kids. About zero to none adult gamers begun gaming when already adults and married.

You're adding qualifiers that didn't exist in the post I quoted. Regardless, that survey has it at 71% of gamers are over the age of 18. Are you assuming that all 29% of the 18 and under crowd game on consoles & PC and not mobile devices? Further, that less than half the adult gaming population, 28% or lower, are true Scottsmen?
