Forums - Gaming Discussion - Should I buy a game digitaly or buy physical and pay more?

Im a gamer who is struggling with replacing a bookshelf full of games with a library of games I can't hold and admire. For example,  Danganronpa is on sale on PSN for $20 or Ebay has it for $40. I love having physical games but is save $20 my wake up call? I know it boils down to what I want and can afford, but itbe nice to hear some opinions on the subject. Thanks.

I love physical cause I don't have to rely on a company's servers in order for me to download it in the future. So, if say, I want to play Senran Kagura Bon Appetit for the vita and I have to download it since my 4gb memory card can't hold shit and psn is down cause Lizard Squad is on their period again, I can't potentically play it all the time I want. But with a physical game, I can play it anytime I want.

With that being said, the only times I do buy digital is when its noticeably cheaper than physical so for this, I would

I buy digital when I get a good deal. Otherwise I buy physical.

Next year I am going all digital. I am going to get the Playstation credit card and get 10% back on all purchases I make on the PSStore. No tax + 10% back = 10.20 in savings per game. I buy about 12 60$ games a year so I would save 122.40$ a year on games not to mention I buy games on sale and regular priced PSN games fairly often. I will save probably 200$ a year after everything. Not to mention you get 10$ for every 1000$ you spend on it. Currently I have a secure credit card and I always make my payments so I am not worried about interest. lol

If you lose your game you are out of luck though. WIth digital you never have to worry about that. I agree with you though about physical, I generally buy physical

Unless your account gets banned and then bam, you lose everything.

After duds like Destiny, Watch Dogs, and Sniper Elite III, I have decided to stop buying digital unless it's a good sale. Now I bought a game like Shadows of Mordor, just finished it, and now I can sell it or get some credit towards a new game.

Well, it's not like buying one digital game for the savings means you have to change your entire persona .

With me, I prefer retail for games I care most about. Digital is good for everything else while keeping in mind retail tends to be cheaper after the first 3-6 months post-release.

I prefer physical copies over digital unless I'm buying a very old game that I never beat before. With a physical copy, you can trade it in, sell it or return it (in a few days) if you ever change your mind on it. If you hold onto it long enough, it might become collectible. Considering how AAA games from franchises are being released broken or sometimes you just pick a crap game, physical is the only way to get your money back. Also you can let friends borrow your game. Any money you might save buying digital would pale in comparison to the money you would get from selling or trading in a physical copy most of the time.

Digital and Physical have their perks. If I can save 20 bucks going one way over the other, I'm doing it. Just do whichever will make you feel better.

I have a large digital collection. All of my disc based games cost me 60 bucks... Then I started getting them on PSN at like... five bucks... couldn't resist.

Just out of curiosity, how much do you think you would get for Shadow of Mordor and where would you sell it? Gamestop?
