Hard to tell where the Vita stands but we have a general idea.

Has the Wii U even outshipped the Vita so far this year? I mean that would be a base to start. We know that Sony discontinued the PSP back on June 3rd and shipments prior has been extremely small for it, so the majority has been Vita/Vita TV.

Also you have future shipments to China..

Sure about that?^ I could of sworn MK8+SSBU came out this year and next year has Zelda/Splatoon/MP10/Star Fox/Yoshi/XCX/Kirby/Mario Maker/etc coming out next year...

Its hard as we have almost nothing to go on for vita shipments with it being combined with psp for years. Also i thought psp isnt discontinued everywhere yet? That was japan only where it was discontinued.

That said Vita could potentially be as low as 8.5mil currently, or be up as high as 10.5mil. Its hard to tell. All We know are...

3.50-3.60mil in japan (by years end)

2.00-2.10mil in US (by years end)

2.10-3.00mil in Europe (We know its not as bad in US, but its obviously not as good as japan)

I fully expect the wii u to outsell the vita by the time Zelda comes out. Unless square enix decides to put a Final Fantasy and K ingdom Hearts on vita. And/ Or capcom putting Monster Hunter 5 on vita. Will never happen though.

This is a pretty pathetic battle to begin with, but if anything WiiU should at the very least be able to beat Vita. It's sales are much higher, but I'll admit it has already taken a much longer time than I would like.

I think everyone thought it would happen before 2015 but now thats not gonna happen it seems. Post holiday sales should be interesting. I honestly expect the Wii U to overtake it in Q1 at some point but all thats needed is an uptick in Vita's japanese sales (which is very possible), and its baseline will be higher the Wii U WW meaning that things may remain as they are for another year at least.

Still, it will easily surpass the Vita in its lifetime.
