I remember in the documentary about the making of TLOU, I believe Neil Druckmann said something along the lines of Naughty Dog making new IPs with a trilogy in mind.

I'm sorry but now way tlou 2 will sell 15 million copies. Too much competition from uncharted and all of the other amazing games Sony makes

the ps4 sells software like no other, the last of us ps3 version alone sold 7-8 million and the ps3 didn't sell software as well as the ps4. the last of us 2 will come out in 2016 or 2017 maybe even 2018, by then the ps4 will have sold 70-100 million if not more, and uncharted will be long gone. the last of us is huge man, will sell systems even that late in the generation.
